I find the repetition really funny for some reason. 😅

The animation keeps coming up whenever I see people talking about this game and I do agree that it is a bit off compared to some of the ludicrous motion capture and such we’ve seen in the likes of Horizon Forbidden West, but at the same time I don’t see how you can’t watch that and just love the Indy vibes. I was really worried after very sub-par action game attempts of old, but this looks like proper Indiana Jones. Granted a lot of cutscene doing the work, but if they can marry that up with solid gameplay a la Wolfenstein we should be good. Given how many of us here like playing 320x200 resolution games, is it that bothersome if the graphics are a little off?

Haha, yes I see what you mean. It’s much scratchier in comparison. I think it was intended to sound smoother like the OPL2 version, if you use the MT32 or CD versions as a comparison.

Wow, that OPL3 version sounds great. I do have a lot of nostalgia for the more typical OPL2 style but the fact such quality was available and unused is sort of wild. I’d definitely be happy to hear the whole soundtrack done. I knew of MT-32 being the card of choice for MI2 but didn’t know about MI1. I’m curious to hear both games given this treatment now. A sadness that in practice almost no one heard it on MT-32 as the composers intended. I guess ‘intended’ was a loose idea back then, compared to the locked down nature of recordings.

Wow. I remember reading about this in Rogue Leaders and it seemed like a remarkably forward-thinking game.

I’ve noticed replies in this thread have declined so maybe the feeling is shared. @Mintopia I’m not sure what to suggest as there are limited tracks to use. Maybe adding Tales and Return — while it will be extremely tough for many I suspect — is the shot in the arm it needs. I assume the previous games have been plumbed to death at this point given we’re 400+ days in.

It’s a good point. I have struggled to find time to get through such robust videos but I do get a lot of time where I can listen only such as driving. I could in theory background play the YouTube videos I suppose.
