Favorite Disney movie?

despite the fact disney put their name on them for complete sell-out uses having nothing to do with the productions whatsoever, give or take some merchandising (earning 51% of the earnings). I'm gonna have to go with every pixar movie ever made. Pixar is so hardcore!

............................................

Anyway, taking away all film money rants and going with pictures Disney did stuff with is, hands down, Fantasia.

Disney keeps other people from making cartoon movies, hench forth, when a movie is labled "Animated", its seen as "Oh, God, another one!"

Fantasia? Come here! *gives Jofa a high five*:D

And Lilo and Stitch, but only because I have a long list of personal jokes related to it that noone here would ever get and BLAH...

also, i think Lilo and Stitch is Disney's mockery of Iron Giant. Goddam they copy everyone...>:(

Okay.

1. Lion King (I love this movie. I also went to the Muscial in Hamburg on my Birthday...It was GREAT!) and Pirates of the Carribean

2. ATLANTIS (Mea Culpa. I am an Atlantis freak) & That movie with the Inka King Cuzco that is turned into a Llama (Can somebody tell me the name in English? I only know that the translation of the title into german was completely wrong)

3. Monsters Inc.

Not necessarily in that order, but the Movies on Place one stay there.

I did like Lilo and Stitch, mainly because of the voodoo kit...."they're just my friends.....they need to be punished." that and Lilo's all hardcore beatin everybody up. But I guess I just don't like elvis that much.

And let's not forget that Finding nemo has come out on DVD. Pixar is awesome.

I did like Road to Eldorado, I'm gonna have to say that that was the disney movie with the best dialogue. But, of course, they needed to sing.

The Kid I would have liked a lot, if it weren't for the mindf*cking paradoxes and giant plot holes.

Wide Awake was also pretty cool. But i think that was Shyamalan's flick.

Buti'm stickin' with Fantasia (But Snow White was very influencial in animating. One of the first flicks that used rotoscoping.)

Regardless of how evil a corporation is, or how much they butcher up stories and legends, the movies are always pretty cool.

Aladdin gets my vote, because the singing and dancing is all good. I also like Toy Story and The Nighmare Before Christmas, although the latter is technically Touchstone.

Hades from Hercules is cool. James Woods is a cool guy. I guess that legend was completely and utterly beaten into cute, but who says the original was definitive? There are usually several different versions of all the classic tales, and the most boring one is usually the most accurate. So let Disney have their fun.

Well, Toy Story was technically Pixar.

I don't really mind when disney butchers fairy tales because, let's face it, so did the Grimm Brothers. But "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was just a step too far. Bastardization of a brilliant tragedy.

I can't wait for Disney's Macbeth.

Hamlet cliffnotes. It said something like "draws its base from Hamlet" and "it illuminates the orginal". I love Hamlet, so this fact both thrilled and enraged me.

Disney's Hunchback makes me phyicialy sick.

I don't like the orginal that much, but that was simply too much bastardness. Yuk.

Thank God in heaven they never did "Phantom of the Opera". If Disney ever got its rat(yes, rat. Mice are too nice)claws on my Erik...Erik....I...I...:hang1:

Well, perhaps not...;)

I like rats...

But I don't like Mickey Mouse (well, at the beginning he was funny, but now...).

I prefer reading Duck Comics. Especially by Don Rosa. He is great. He draws those tiny little details, and the stories are always greatly researched.

He would never draw a Mickey Mouse Comic.

Nightmare Before Christmas has only been published by Disney, I think it would be wrong to call it a "disney movie".

Mine would be: The sword in the stone(especially the dutch version, the voices are hilarious!)

Or The Lion King (of which I think the english version is better, which is mostly in any english movie)

Why would you post this question on a Grim Fandango Forum though?

The Lion King wasn't really based on Hamlet, although when they were drawing up the basic story they decided it was quite similar, and then made Scar into the Uncle as opposed to him being "some random lion".

I watched The Lion King yesterday and learned some things!

-> You must do exactly what your father does, anything else would be deviance!

-> You can't ever change, ever.

-> It's okay for lions to kill and eat things, but not hyenas.

-> Lions fight like girls

-> Rowan Atkinson has a beautiful singing voice.

Lion King based on hamlet, I didn't know about that...

I did know that they made it the brother because it would be better for the story, at least that's what they said in the making of... They didn't say anything about hamlet though.. And the Lion King went down in moviehistory as the first Disney movie that wasn't based on an allready existing story

Really? Here I am thinking I'm smart...oh, well...

And...

>:( God i hate that double standard. I love hyenas. They made them gross scavengers in Lion King, but in reality, lions often steal the kills from hyenas!

The dinosaur fight in Fantasia is another example of this injustice...

...ANIMAL PREJUDICE! Lets go march...;)

I heard some mother talk to somebody on the phone, and she told when she showed the movie to her daughter when the daugther was younger. She said she had skipped the part where the Witch Ursula is killed, because she thought it might be too scary.

But then the daughter was scared, because she hadn't seen how Ursula had died. She thought the evil witch was still alive. She was scared of Ursula.
