Mr.Burger
chris (ernil) and i found this game sitting on the shelf at best buy and one reviewer on the box said it was comparable to the old monkey island series "and that is high praise" i think it said. seeing this lit up my day, and i believe chris's as well. one of us is bound to play it and as soon as that person is finished the other will play it. have you guys heard word of this game? if not then chris and i will fill you in after purchasing and experiencing it. it might be speakworthy. Remi
Heh, you declared adventure games dead a few weeks ago, and you haven't even heard of Runaway... Yeah, it's very good and worth playing, though has some flaws when it comes to pixel hunting, and the voice acting is so-so. There's a review of it here, but I feel the score is inflated. AdisAbeba
Nice game really! But NEW?! I played it half a year ago...
Shivermetimbers
Well, I hadn't heard of it, but now I must find it and play it. But not until I finish all these other adventure games I have on my computer.
Ernil
I remember looking at it because the guy on the front cover looked like Guybrush. With further investigation, it was an adventure game. I plan on playing it. After I play GF, MM, DOTT, FT, and S&M of course.

Benny
Yes its bizarre, the English language version was finished ages ago, but its still not released in the UK. Of course to release it right now would mean going up against Broken Sword 3 and that'd just be stupid.

Mr Flibble
Originally posted by Mr.Burger said it was comparable to the old monkey island series "and that is high praise" Since when did you like Monkey Island Games? For those of you who don't understand, check out his entry in the thread ' Worst game you ever played'. Sorry, I don't have a link. As for this new game, never heard of it. Who makes it? What platforms is it on? (or what are the sys Req for PC)
Ernil
He drowned that statement in sarcasm. 'Twas all a lie. You'll understand when you get to know him.

Alia
Comprehend the Burger, you must. Hmm. I'd heard of this Runaway, but I'd never pursued the idea. So whoever has played it, what did you think? Much depends on your reply.

Mr.Burger
i'd never heard anything about this game. keep in mind i'm in omaha, nebraska. plus it's the first time it's been mentioned in these forums, especially in its own thread. ACTUALLY, RemiO you've got me. this whole time i've been plotting evil and god-f*cking*-damn it i just can't do it with you around. i deserve NOTHING but shame and bowls of recycled vomit for the rest of my life, which ought to be long so i can suffer for a long long time. if you want it to be short, then you should torture me as much as you f*cking can before i die because that is all i deserve. as long as i get my bowls of recycled vomit. ^^this is me pissed off^^ i didn't see you guys throwing this title at me when i was saying adventure games were dead. monkey island and its compatriots (tim schafer's works) ARE the best games ever made, and I won't accept anything less because there is no reason to be less than the best. if what you have isn't smart and funny and memorable then don't toss it in a box and sell it. notice that high-tech and 3D aren't on the list of requirements for being the best game ever. tim schafer really is the best adventure game maker out there and since he isn't making adventure games right now, the genre can be safely called "dead" in my book. or how about struggling to live? is that less horrible sounding? you guys haven't made me feel like i've spoken wrongly yet, but merely reminded me over and over again that you don't appreciate what i'm saying. well my gosh how could this be... Loom, Sam 'n Max, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island 1 and 2, Indy and the Fate of Atlantis, Grim Fandango... all made between 5 and 15 years ago. In other words, since the birth of computers to roughly 5 years ago. To compare Longest Journey or Escape from Monkey Island to these games is like comparing a glass of water to an ocean. Did you laugh outloud during Broken Sword and make friends with strangers just because you both knew a joke from Broken Sword; did you join a massive fan-forum about the Longest Journey? Huzzah that Runaway came out. Huzzah!! I would LOVE to learn that I'm wrong - that Adventure games have come back to life!! I'd LOVE TO!!!! We'll see... won't we? Alien426
Has anyone played Tony Tough? In the latest issue of one of the mags I read it beat Broken Sword 3! Haven't read the reviews yet.
Remi
Tony Tough is pretty ok, but not great. There are some fairly good jokes in it, though some fall flat, possibly due to bad translation from Italian. Well worth playing as long as you don't expect it to be as good as some of the classic LEC titles.
Ernil
make friends with strangers just because you both knew a joke from Broken Sword Though creepy, it's how Burger and I met/hit it off. Except with Monkey Island.
