Surfnshannon
Hi guys - this is very wierd. But just an FYI. When I clicked onto my LF *when I first got online a pop up came up as usual but then something wierd happened. A small window called http://www.internetisforgeeks..... popped up and a bunch of errors started popping up. Well I didn't think much of it...until my internet stopped working. I did a virus scan and uncovered a " Trojan.Downloader.Inor. My recommendation to you guys is to do a virus scan. I don't know what happened but the strange pop ups happened when I clicked LF and the virus saved in my temp internet folder. I just thought I'd send this out in case anybody else is having this happen. Ahhh!
leXX
Very strange. I've had nothing, but then again I have a pop-up blocker. I'll pop this in Help/Feedback so the Admin's can see it. =)

Guest Jed
Nothing new to me, really - I encountered a pop up ad from LF a long time ago that my virus scan stopped immediately. Some pop ups are dangerous, yes - but they're rare, and usually stopped before they get anywhere.

Surfnshannon
Same thing again. I was going to the RSN Forums and it poped up again - this time my Norton stopped it 3 times! I'm surprised it hasn't happened to anyone else. It pops up with a sexy looking girl in a big pink popup. This isn't good. I hope others don't get it -- but at the same time..I hope they do so that we can figure out whats going on.
swphreak
I haven't got a virus pop-up, but I am getting a pop-up that runs a script, but my Virus scan stops the script. In the GeeBee forums.

Crow_Nest
Then you should download a software that disables pop-ups, forgot the name, but you can do a search on it.
Surfnshannon
I'm at work - I'm not allowed to download additional programs to the machines. And usually I have a firewall that blocks all the popups and that's mostly why I'm freaked out these keep popping up.
Ray Jones
Originally posted by |GG|Crow_Nest Then you should download a software that disables pop-ups, forgot the name, but you can do a search on it. use mozilla, no popup, forever.
Glaive v.1
yeah i just got mozilla for my p.c at home. Its so much better than IE6. I blocks every pop-up. Go to mozilla.org and download itwww.mozilla.org. I think thats the address. i got my copy from school hope it works.
Ray Jones
yes mozilla.org .. theres two choices: mozilla suite complete with email client etc. OR mozilla firebird, which is just a browser. but it has no setup up just a directory with some files n stuff. easy to use. just click the exe. firebird i pretty quick though. another good thing is "tabbed browsing" ONE window where you can have as many sites open as you like. anyway.. TEH GLOW works only in inet exploder i think.. anyone got an alternative browser WITH glow?
