Boba Rhett Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 One of these three will be chosen to be the box design. If the pictures go down, someone tell me.
Darth Homer Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Those all look pretty cool. I have to say, though, the last one is my favorite
pbguy1211 Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 For that reason alone they shouldn't use #2. Though it may look more appealing to the eye. Then again knowing Lucas, he went back in and re-did all the Yoda shots and made him all CG.
Tie Guy Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Originally posted by Chase Windu They're all great but I have a problem with the 2nd one. Why does it have a picture of Yoda from AotC on it? Where is that in AOTC. I think they just made that shot for the cover. Neither the Luke nor Vader is an actual shot from any movie.
darthfergie Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Originally posted by Chase Windu That pic is of Yoda holding a lightsaber. They just cropped off the lightsaber part. Strange. I personally like the first...but I figure the third will take it... I wouldn't mind seeing them have the original artwork on the cases. (you know...the one with the massive Luke and the stripping Leia)
Boba Rhett Posted March 3, 2004 Author Posted March 3, 2004 I think the second one is by far the worst. Also, that Yoda picture is from episode II. They even used it on their main page and in posters.
Eets Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Originally posted by Tie Guy Where is that in AOTC. I think they just made that shot for the cover. Neither the Luke nor Vader is an actual shot from any movie. I'm afraid the Peterson brothers have you on this one, Mr. Guy.
Sherack Nhar Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 The "Imperial Collection" one is by far my favorite. "Jedi vs Darkside" is pathetic-looking in my opinion, and too flashy for my tastes. "Final Conflict" is alright; it reminds me of the VHS box set of the Special Edition.
Fishflesh Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 why isent there a 6 pack? so when 3 releash on dvd you can put it in the box...
Billy Shears Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 I don't like the second one, mainly because of the CG Yoda, but between the first and third, I'd have to say I like the first best, since this is the Imperial Era. It's like, when we have both trilogies, it'll be in a sort of timleline: Republic Era, Imperial Era.
pbguy1211 Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 I'm between 3 and 1, while leaning to 3. Since I despise C-3PO...
Tie Guy Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 Alright, i submit, but i still like it. Just because it has a CG Yoda doesn't make it terrible.
Tie Guy Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 Originally posted by Chase Windu What makes it bad for me is that they put an AotC image in an OT box and try to pass it off as OT. Not really. I don't see anywhere on the box where it says all the shots are from the OT. What does it matter? It's not like some big lie or scam. CG or puppet, OT or Prequels, it's still the same character.
lukeiamyourdad Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 Ah I see lots of purists! #1. I just like the Imperial Cover more then Vader's big face.
Darth Homer Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 I have heard, I think it was on theforce.net, that these boxes were just test art and that A) the real cover art will not be any of these and B) that we will find out what it is soon. Now, please understand that this was several days ago I saw it, so I may be incorrect on this & it may also be LA trying to throw us off.
Paragon_Leon Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 folks, welcome to the wonderful world of merchandising. Of course a 6-DVD box will happen in the future. Heck, I'd even bet it will be 8 or even 10 discs then. It's all about making you buy multiple versions of something you only need once. As for the pix; they are confirmed to be test versions. As such, I'd put my money on the Imperial one any time.
Darth Homer Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 I saw on starwars.com today that hyperspace members get a chance to view the official packaging now! There is a pic & it has the corner of the dvd & you can see the grill & side-bar-thngy of Vader's helmet. Can someone w/ an account go view & verify the it is similar to no 3 above (of course, don't get yourself in trouble w/ LA when doing so)?
Fishflesh Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 yes if seen it and its non of the 3 above http://www.starwars.com/hyperspace/member/about/news/img/20040319_1_bg.jpg
Boba Rhett Posted March 20, 2004 Author Posted March 20, 2004 You can't link to HP pics. Fortunately, I'm a sneaky bassid! The widescreen is silver like that and the fullscreen is gold, from what I understand. I could be way off.
Boba Rhett Posted March 20, 2004 Author Posted March 20, 2004 Here, I found the Fullscreen edition picture.
Darth Homer Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Sweeeeeeeeeet! :D I really wish they'd make the widescreen the gold one, though oh well, either way it looks awesome!
