I hope they have diffrent viewing styles for diffrent soldiers. For example, the battle droid should be able to switch between a few diffrent view styles, like infrered and normal, same with storm troopers and clone troopers, rebels might have a built in scope on there helmet. im just shootin out ideas. but what does everyon else think? i think differnt sight visions would be great

Funny that you should post this thread, because I was going to post something along the same lines. I think it would add extra dept to having different view options, but it will make balancing even harder.

I think stormtroopers should be able to have the enermies in their crosshair out lined with a red box or something giving details over health and what sort of unit it is.

But the rebel would have the ability to blend in with it's background, so they would have to be in broad daylight in order to be highlighted. The problem is if they are not in a forest map, their clothes would have to change.

i think droids should have a target identification view where all targets get a crosshair on them so the droid can then 'lock on' to that target

stormtroopers should have some sort of dull darkened vision because of the helmets but also have a nightvision feature for dark places

rebels should have a visor that when activated would be similar to the droid view mentioned above but cant lock on but can use it to easily identify vehicles and camping/hiding infantry

No thanks, then it would be to easy to aim for droids. And If somebody is trying to make an ambush bij hiding somewhere, the droid would find him easely because the crosshair would stick on him.

I totally agree with you my friend that would badly take away the elemt of suprise in the game and everyone would try to be droids to see people easier.

i think locking on would be a bad idea, but a diffrent sight option and maybe have a crosshair or a dot or something if you see them ne ways. they could easily add like a power pack bar and you could only use it for a limited time.

their photoreceptors might be adjustable for night vision, infared, or just plain regular. the stormtrooper has to have a difficult sighting system b/c they are horrible shots in the movies, and the rebels should have the easiest sight b/c they are trained in gaurilla warfare and implement one shot kills. something like that maybe, but i definately think each faction should have different sights/views to express what they wear(helmets) or if they dont have real eyes (droids).

I like to keep my view in first person all the time, full stop. Even when using a vehicle, it just makes it more realistic for me, you feel like your really there. Even if the view is impeded by amour plating or whatever, it just adds to the effect. I feel absent from the game when in third person.

Wanna see a dancing.........oh.....I've already used all the dancing emo's!!

I think battlefront is made with the quake engine so 3rd person view will most likely be enabled. If people are still unclear to you in the forests you can always change the textures and paint them yellow (i dont do this though the idea just popped into my head :p )

If the Stormtroopers knew how to aim, all the heroes would be dead!

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't I recall Obi-Wan telling Luke that Stormtroopers could target with good accuracy?

I'll admit, the point is more towards dark jedi 8, but it still sort of applies here. I don't think they had terrible aim and it must have at least be equal to the rebels. First Obi-Wan said it clearly in Ep 4, second the rebels got slaughtered at the beginning of Ep 4 and in Ep 5.

Yeah the heros (most of them) didn't die, but that doesn't nesseary mean the stormtroopers had horrible aim, it was just relativily worse compared to the heros. But compare the skills of the stormtrooper to that of your normal freedom fighting rebel, it must be relevently good.

My point is we're both wrong!

didn't luke say in EP.4 that he could barely see out of his stormtrooper helmet? its not impossible that the stormtroopers could have bad aim. it would just be sorta logical to balance the rebel/imperial factor in the game. rebels have weaker weapons so they need better aim, stormtroopers have much better weapons, theirfore need a tougher targeting repticle. I'm just speculating.

they do against metal bullets, which some primative or poor factions still used. but thier not good against those damn sticks and stones the ewoks had? plus they supposedly protect agains glancing laser shots. its kinda like a kevlar body suit, but with flaws b/c of lucas's scripting. plus appearance wise, their menacing to their enemies. just like the clones.
