WIP: Mario

Recommended Posts

I've figured out how to model and am currently working on Mario (and Luigi if I feel like it)

It's going good so far, i'm done with the head, legs, arms, and basic body shape, I still have to do the hands and some body ajustments like the overall straps and the neck. It's going to have bot support and custom sounds. I still don't know how to UV map so if someone knows a good tutorial or two feel free to post.

Here are some screenshots of it so far:

In case your wondering the M on the cap will be textured.

Well, comments? Questions? Idears?

Ty, I copied the model's look from super smash bros. melee as close as possible, scence that's about the best 3D Mario model i've seen to date.

I'm still pondering the thought of making a yoshi JA vehicle. *shrugs*

also, how many poly's is he at right now? >_> looks kinda.... high.

not as much as if looks, if it's too high poly its easy to fix.

JA, and, fine I'll do the cape

You dont have to give in to demands that easily do what you wanna do its your art piece, and I have started a yoshi vehicle for the taun taun, well actually it was just a model but I could cut the polys and let you use it when I get nearer and if I decide to work on it more, pretty busy with school and other stuff, we'll see.

Anyway looks awesome.

REJOICE IN THE LAND! For the hard part is done.

After a full day of hard work it is in GLM form, now it just needs texturing, bot support, and custom sounds, then i'll throw in a caped version and it'll be set.

There's 2 images on SSB next to the model. Just want to point out the way the SSB is peportionated next to the model. As you can see, Mario is not standing upright in the pics but you can still note the difference in leg size.

Anywayhoo, models looks great, keep it up!

That's nice and all but the evil JA skeleton prevents proportioning in places, expecially the legs.

like I said, I have the tv right next to me with full SSBM pan around of Mario, so don't think I don't notice these things ;)

there are shadows making the chin black, as with the background, making it seem as the head is not attached.
