*Atris* Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 to all those who are ecstatic about the prospect of it being released before christmas you might want to read this. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/07/30/news_6103854.html (go down to rumour 3) it could happen though aswell just thought id bring this to your attention
n.kT3M4 Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 lol yes that is odd how in all the interviews with the kotor2 they always get asked the release date and they replied Feburay 2005 and then i go to lucasarts.com and on the end of the kotor2 trailer it has coming soon in winter 2005 very strange indeed.
RedHawke Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 lowiej that rumor sounds like a crock of fecal matter to me! People are just rattling peoples chains, they would have put Febuary 2005 at the end of the trailer if it was going to be Febuary, but they didn't, they put Winter 2004. Now with the trailer saying what it does, if they do a Febuary release, most people who do not understand business terms will be disheartened at being lied to, that will create a lot of hate and discontent aimed at Lucasarts and Obsidian, and that is a bad business move if they do.
FiEND_138 Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Hmmm... I just see it as a way of saying 'don't be surprised if we have to push release back.', with them announcing Feb. first then Dec. Anyways, I don't really have my hopes set on a Dec. release, especially after the wait for K1. *hope this babble makes sense, it's still yesturday for me*
RedHawke Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 ^^^^ Yeah, I forgot about KOTOR's release, but they are using the same basic game, so it shouldn't be like that when it comes to a release of KOTOR:TSL. Personally, I was always figuring a final March release anyway, due to what is being also released that month.
Rogue9dlb Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Whatever the release date is, the wait for KOTOR II won't be as painful, or long as LOMAC's.

You have a lot more patience than I. I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard that release was going to be December.

I got all excited from the trailer I saw (see link in sig), but I am patient, because I know that when it does finally ship, it will be worth the wait. And don't follow what is happening with it too closely, thus I don't get very excited (outta sight, outta mind).
kome566 Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 EEEE IM TOO EXCITED!!! *Flies around the thread WEEEEEEEE* :D Im excited but not that excited . . besides . . I have ppl to kill (CS),Ppl to conquer (AoM) and command a Sith Fleet! (Kotor!!!) :D
RedHawke Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 ^^^^ *Sees everyone bubbling with excitement about a December Release of KOTOR:TSL* Me too! Though I'd feel even more excited if I saw it on the LA site.

That means if they are working on a new game, then they are almost finished with the current one. Combined with the fact that some devs are working weekends in, what I imagine to be, a last minute push to get TSL out the door. Something tells me we'll hear from LA soon.

kome566 Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Or they just split their team and now production is gonna be slower
Achilles Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Quote Originally posted by kome566 Or they just split their team and now production is gonna be slower Could be. They've been hiring for months, so I doubt that's the case though.
Jackel Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Having worked in an industry were we used "winter 2004" it meant the three months of winter , not just the month of winter that was in 2004.

I don't think it would be a problem, the first phase of a games development is mosly formulation, features, and figuring out the story and things like that, then you start the actual implementation, then lastly is the testing and QA part. Since KOTOR:TSL is in the last stages of this cycle and NWN II would be in the beginning stages, they should have people for both. Of course thats just my 2 cents! That's true... we all will definately know for sure when LA posts the date on their site!

That's the same interpretation that I have, however seeing a December date in print is encouraging. I'll still be salavating in March if that's when it comes out, but December would be very cool.
