Witnessed my first Saber Duel

Kurgan

Recommended Posts

I was playing Galactic Conquest mode last night (as Rebels) on Endor and guess what I saw?

Luke and Vader hacking away at each other!

They did no damage of course, and nobody had a chance of winning, but I thought "hey this is cool, a bit realistic to have the two Jedi Heroes cancelling each other out."

Then I realized that I forgot to uninstall the "Jedi Forces2" mod, and there were other Jedi running around the battlefield. I was about to win anyway, but I quit out, removed the mod and reloaded. Didn't see it happen again, but I figure maybe it was one in a hundred chance of happening.

Or maybe the mod made it happen? Who knows... but it was something new I hadn't seen before.

Here's a screenshot:

It's logical. The units are programmed to attack each other with their programmed weapons. If you make them jedi, so be it and they will slash. But it wasn't the heroes fighting.

unless you say they were heroes?

Sure is strange. Must be ze mod.

Thats pretty cool. Something that should have been in the released build anyway. Since regular infantry can't take them out, another 'hero' should have been able to. IMO, it would have made them much better than unstopable saber killing machines. I suppose that does go against the movie cannon, but it would have given them a whole other dimension.

Yeah normally they just seem to ignore each other. I tried for an hour to get Mace Windu and Dooku together, but they would ignore each other and focus on me.

If Luke & Vader are just going to stare at each other, maybe the Luke hero should turn off his saber and say "I will not fight you, father."

Then the Vader one will talk slowly towards him and say "You are unwise to lower your DEFENSES!" then they will start swinging again.

Heh... anyway...
