YAIIIRTT: Yet Another Iraq Invasion Is Response to Terrorism Thread

If the US wants to be world police they should follow police procedures, if they were the police and Iraq was a criminal suspect, the case would be thrown out because of illegal search and unlawful use of force. We only had unfounded "evidence" and no probable cause. The "evidence" we had to invade Iraq wouldn't get police a warrant, instead it'd get them an angry judge yelling for them to leave their chambers.

Wonderful analogy Sith. To tell the truth, sometimes I feel the USA should keep its nose where it belongs; instead of butting into affairs that doesn't concern them, like ousting of Saddam. They thought there were WMDs, so they got in without a search warrant. They found nothing, and turned the public's head to Saddam. Really..

Haha, indeed, instead of wasting money by inciting a war that nobody except Bush needs. But then again, this topic's for another thread.

Bush was wrong in invading Iraq with the reason being that it had WMDs. This would not be so bad. The bad thing is that he would not admit to his folly. He confused the public using Saddam Hussein as a decoy to prevent himself from being shot between the eyes by the public. Indeed, I don't see any connection between Saddam and WMDs. Although he was a dictator, this is not a reason to invade, much like saying, "Lookie there, that country treats its people badly. Lets invade them to stop the mistreatment (and get their precious resources; maybe oil?)!" I thoroughly despise his actions. Support Kerry for this election.

rubbish!

50,000 iraqi women and children is a price well worth paying to stop a guy who may have been planning to maybe start researching maybe making weapons some time in the future, if sanctions had maybe been removed, and may then have given those to terrorists or something!!!!!

If we wait until people do things, or are able to do things then it is too late!!! We should kill them all as soon as they even start thinking that they might like to do something bad!

Anyway, they are a long way away.

ANd whatever you think about the war, you have to admit that bush has made the world safer, reduced the power and profile of these terrorists, and made the US population the most united and undivided it has been for years!!!!

These are not the achievements of an idiot, just cos he looks like one doesn't mean he IS ONE, and who cares if he makes the rest of the world laugh at us, he has taught us that they don't matter...

HE is my hero.... i want to be just like him...

Including Iraqi men, it is not just 50 000. It is 100 000. Whereas the casualties for the invaders combined were less than 5000. See the big difference?

Bush made the world safer? Indeed. He reduced the power and profile of the terrorists? Indeed. But, wait. You forgot something! You forgot to say he reduced the world's innocent population by 100 000, and then some! "he has taught us that they don't matter". Indeed, he does. He reckons that civilians are expendable, that anybody not American doesn't matter.

"and made the US population the most united and undivided it has been for years!!!!" Wrong. Don't say this; it makes me want to puke. Notic the HUGE number of people opposing the war? Ooh, I bet you do! Doesn't that create a large rift between the two groups of people? Oh, it does. Now compare that with a peaceful period. Oh wow, now the war seems to unite the people! Wowweee- wait, wrong. It doesn't.

I see, you want to be a reckless person who sends his troops into war without finding out whether the cause of the antagonisation is real, finds out that it isn't, changes the topic faster than light, deluding the people into thinking he's right. Wow, what a role model.

Not.

toms was using sarcasm Bremen ;)

TRADE CENTER TOWERS WERE DESTROYED.

And yet the Bush admin lost 1.6 million jobs after that, and honestly, 1.6 million is WAY more jobs than should have been lost to that kind of attack.

Not only that, but he's had 3 years to do something about it, and things have only just recently BARELY started getting better. Bush says that outsourcing out jobs is helping us, but I honestly don't see the reasoning why sending jobs we could have here overseas is helping the unemployment rate :dozey:

Here's somthing worth notice!

In the Aftermath of 9-11, Bu$h Passed the Patriot Act wich invades the privacy of civilians, allows the FBI to Jail people for TALKING terrorist related stuff with no court or NOTHING!(so much for free speach and OTHER civil rights!) Bu$h's exuse was to make it a "safer" country!

In the Aftermath of the Riechstag fire (or HOWEVER you spell it) Hitler used it as an excuse to take away civil rights away from german people! ...and create a false sense of patriotism among the germans!

Presedent Hindenburg: "This goes aginst the German Constitution!"

Chanceler Hitler: "A national monument Has been burned down! A terrorist act was an event the founding fathers could not anticipate! we must give up civil rights for a safer country!"

Presedent Hindenburg Sighned the bill...

kipper, once again using humor with facts. Kudos, sir. Kudos.

I want this election to be over for 3 reasons:

1: The ballot lawyers are already filing cases

2: If I get one more call from some dickhead(Spike Lee called yesterday, and P. Diddy a few before then!), I will rip the phone from the wall and kill somebody with it.

3: If I get one more call from some dickhead(Spike Lee called yesterday, and P. Diddy a few before then!), I will rip the phone from the wall and kill somebody with it.

I have my bloody gore-filled reasons.

Ever see a bus full of innocent children shot beyond recognition? In retaliation to the bombing of an EMPTY building. noone was hurt in the bombing, Israel just decided, we'll retaliate by killing a busfull of 6-10 year old kids.

Well, the deal is Israel is the aggressor. So yes, they're the ones we should "go after", even though they're all buddy-buddy with the USA.

The Palestinians were living peacefully in the land that they had had for 2000 years, when suddenly the Israelis move in and start killing them. The allies gave them a handful of land because it was soooo sad that the evil whites had murdered so many of them in World War II. Next thing we know, the Israeli government makes Israel a rogue nation bent on taking out Palestine. Yeah, poor Israelites...:(

Yes, Palestines do things too. But hey, they are the ones who have had their country taken away. Would you say it's OK that the Israelis take a good portion of the USA instead? I thought not. Well, then consider that the USA is only 200 years old. Palestine is 2000...

rubbish!

50,000 iraqi women and children

Not the men? Look, quit the sexism already. I'm utterly sick of that "...including women and children" bull**** phrase. Are you saying women are worth more than men? I didn't think so. "But the men were all fighting!" Right, every single one of the millions of them. Err... what about "no"?

U. S. People: "This goes aginst the US Constitution!"

President Bush: "A national monument Has been burned down! A terrorist act was an event the founding fathers could not anticipate! we must give up civil rights for a safer country!"

You almost make it sound like Palestinians have never committed anything like that.

True but I've seen more non-fatal palestini attacks than Israeli attacks. And Israel shuts off food to parts of Palestine, of course they're going to attack, they need food. You ever see a neighborhood of people lying dead/near dead in the streets because they couldn't get food? It's not a pretty sight.

I must come to defend the Israel, though I do not agree with their methods.

Knowing a bit about Palestine's history, you could say the Arabs were too intolerant at the beginning. They seemed to be the bad guys. I'm not talking about the Palestinians but the neighboring countries. Wars were fought, peadce was never found. The Arab kept refusing any peace as long as Israel would be there.

However, instead of keep being the poor oppressed fellows, Israel started invading, colonizing, divide and conquer as we can say. They started commiting worse attrocities then the Arabs did(Sharon being accused of genocide, you get the idea).

Now both groups are fighting a war they forgot what the point was. Frankly, I see Israel always going too far, bombing "terrorists" in the middle of the day and not worrying about anybody else in the way, building a new version of the Berlin wall and their colonies(well not anymore but it's worth mentionning).
