This isn't the first time a bunch of numbers have replaced all the letters in my game. But I managed to fix it that time...

Holowan Plug-in would not have modified dialog.tlk.

When you reinstall remember to remove SWKotOR folder after uninstall and before install defualt C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR

I'm curious Emperor Devon, I took a snapshot of my Kotor Folder that has all the latest blah blah installed....does your folder match?

** yours probably won't have the "dialog.TLK.bak" that's one of my backup files

I don't know if it could be a possibility but did you ever installed the PC customization packs? The installation process with the kiss tool modified the chitin.key...

What mods did you installed initially?

And could you post a screenshot (you can use photobucket.com to upload you pic) or a list of the contents of your SWKotor folder?

then that may be the problem. There's 2 options I can think of, neither I'm 100% sure of, so bear with me and don't take my advice as 100% guarantee it'll work. Before trying them, you might want to wait to see if anyone replies to this post in regards.

Option 1:

Re-install the mods listed in your uninst.log (use KISS because Darth33 is right about the altered chitin.key). After re-install, un-install (once again) but use the KISS tool this time

Option2:

directly edit the uninst.log (should be able to use notepad), killing all ties to the mods it 'says' are installed. Re-save the file with the same name (check for .log extension as opposed to .txt) replace it if you're prompted to **

**make a backup of the uninst.log BEFORE you try either method

*crosses fingers* this might get you up and running, but like I said...you may want to wait to see if some of the more seasoned veterans can confirm...

If he deleted everything and reinstalled the game fresh. Then the chitin.key would have been deleted and replaced. However if anything remained behind in the unstill then that would be likely to be the resolution. Side note if this is a problem that conceivably is being caused by kiss tool it might be wise to go to the forgotten wars website and demand there help in fixing the problem as well because they understand there tool and don't seem to provide much support in relation too it here at lucasforums.

Could someone please give me a copy of Dialogue.tlk then? Something could be wrong with mine...

But you told me you had a backup when I asked you? You can simply redownload the AIOFPM and you'll find a dialog.tlk in it. Don't install the rest of the mod, chose custom install and select only dialog.TLK.

Edit: the kiss toll will only remove the PC customization pack. Reinstall the pack with the Kiss tool and then uninstall with the kiss tool.

Alright This may be harsh but this is what you need to do devon.

First completley uninstall everything related to kotor making certain everything is out of the windows sytem registry and all.

(unless you deleted the zip's and rar's which almost all mods are packed in you should still have these handy)

put all archive files for mods in there own folder that is located off of the drive itself(not within the lucasarts folder, I would also throw a copy of the 1.03 patch in here as well)

delete all folders related to kotor(if you have multiple lucasarts games then you want to delete a folder named swkotor)

shut down and restart your system(always good to do before reinstalling software it resets memory cache.)

reinstall kotor and its patch. At this stage only have these 2 things installed.

Play the game and see if you are having the same problem.

if not install a copy of kotor mod manager.

create a seperate folder for each and every mod archive you have most unarchive programs will do this for you automatically.

through KMM add each mod from there seperate folders via the add mod button.

Now load only one mod into the game start it up and play.

if the first mod does not pose the error try your next mod by itself by deactivating the first and activating the second.

repeat the last step one by one this will help to determine which mod is producing the error.

DO NOT USE ANY of the KISS tool mods yet. leave these too last as they require more finesse in there aplication into the game and very well might be the problem.

If you follow the above steps it might be slow and tedious and you will lose your saved games but you will also resolve your problem.

If after a clean install you are still having the problem then it very well maybe a virus in your system.

After two pages of posting, can we know what it was? or how did you solved it? Just curious :D

Sure! :D I deleted all mods, moved every KOTOR file to a new directory (not in lucasarts) deleted all other KOTOR stuff. (It took a while to move the SWKOTOR directory to the recycle bin) I found an icon to install prograrms, so I put in the KOTOR disk, and my computer uninstalled it, then I installed it, dowloaded the mods I wanted (but read through the contents thouroughly) installed the mods, and started a new game! :D :D :D Thanks for all your help again. :D By the way, do you know where I can find the Arena mod?
