edlib
Dude, you rock! We Rock! NEW MILESTONE: Now, let's see if we can hit 1200 posts (100 posts per month) before Jan. 1. Why? Why the hell not? Just cuz it's something to do... Will be a bit of a challenge, since most of Junes posts have vanished into the ether. But I believe we can do it! Cmdr. Cracken
We probably can, how much of it that is substantive, well..... who knows. not like they actually HAVE to moderate this forum much. I like it that way, we can do so much more...... *evil maniacle laughter ensues*
Nitro
To be honest, we're mostly self-moderating... The trolls have far more well-travelled forums to work on, and the ones that still make it here get scared off by the insanity.

Wildstar
I decided that I couldn't stand waiting for my best friend to come over Sunday to help me install my new DVD burner, so I ended up doing it myself last night. Not too many problems...just ended up having to reinstall my USB CD burner in the process. Having no media, I haven't had a chance to test the write functions of the new drive, but it reads fine. Tested the DVD software by popping in "Revenge of the Sith"...it looks awesome on my 19" CRT monitor, much better than it does on my grainy 20+ year old TV. edlib
Just got through mixing a concert of 13 back-to-back gospel acts. Over 3-and-a-half hours of music... straight-through... no intermission. Surprisingly, it was even less fun than it sounds on paper. I feel like I just ran a marathon. On my ears. Nitro
Ed, your avatar's really creepy when I'm drunk... Actually, so it mine... I'm also irritated... I was at MusicStop earlier tonight buying new skins for my drummer since he was stuck working 'till after the place closed, and before I left I thought, "I'm gonna need new strings soon..." and spent a few minutes trying to decide whether or not to buy 'em. Normally I've always got at least one spare set in my case, but money's been a little tight lately, so I've neglected it... Anywho, one of the guys that works there comes over and says, "Need strings?", to which I replied, "I will soon, but I guess I'll be ok on the old ones 'till my next paycheck." Famous last words. Cut to shortly after midnight... I've been fooling around with scales and stuff to get the rust out of my fingers after a few weeks hiatus from even having time to pick up my guitar, the drummer's just finished tuning up the nice new Remo Weatherkings I'd picked up for him, and we're just starting into our usual warmup song, something fast and not really our usual style, but simple and fun nonetheless: Bro Hymn by Pennywise. And as soon as the pick hits it on that opening chord, my goddamned D string breaks. So it's off to MusicStop tomorrow for strings... Two packs. edlib
I hate changing strings. I push it past the bounds of reason every time. But I always have spares around. At least once a year Guitar Center has some kind of sale where they sell 10 packs of strings for the price of one, and I always go there and pick them up when I hear about it, even though I don't use them up that fast. They are usually pretty crappy strings, but sometimes they are from good companies, like Dean Markley. Either way, they always come in awfully handy in a pinch. Right now I have a couple of shoe boxes full of packs of strings, in just about every gauge you can imagine. Typically I play .11s. I almost instantly snap anything lighter than that. My pick technique isn't very light or subtle. I'm thinking of building a hybrid set of 11s on the top 3 strings, with the bottom 3 from a set from a set of 12s or heavier. I wouldn't mind a bit more "oomph" and snap from the bass strings. Oh... and I've made Frank a bit larger recently... for everyone's viewing pleasure! I think it's past time to find a new sig though....
Tierce
yeah, so i woke up this morning...hungover, and I see something in the corner of my eye. Don't get me wrong, i think i am hallucinating, but then I investigate. all of a sudden i see a mouse...So I am like wtf? So i chase the bastard around my apartment, and realize that hangovers aren't that great for hunting...So I say out loud, "I have work, so you will live another 6 hours till i get back, but when i get back, blood will be spilt...and not my blood, yours" btw...anyone have any plastic explosives laying around? edlib
If you see one that means there are probably many more. We have them at work. This might be a job for a professional. Otherwise it could degenerate to a Caddyshack type-situation. If it does: get it all on video, please!

At the end of that night, I had such a psychosis about cooking steak... Assassin: I knew a guy in college who killed a mouse with a viking-style broadsword. Rogue15
this weekend was thrilling. me and my dad went squirrel hunting. we got to the farm where we hunt and go out to shoot and we're like firing away at this squirrel, his gun is open sight and he never got to test fire it so it prolly needs sighted yet. eh, then we go out to the woods and freeze for a bit, didn't see anything. so we come back to his house and i almost fall on the stupid welcome mat cause it's like frozen or something, so i move it off to the side and we let the dog out to use the bathroom, then leave to go eat. we went to chinese buffet, then went to walmart to look at stuff for my dad's tv, didnt find what he wanted for it, so we went to look at the guns to see if the one i wanted was affordable w/my extra 10% (a cool bonus thing walmart employees get from thursday-thanksgiving, in addition to the employee 10% discount, there's that additional 10%, making it 20% off any one item), and we're looking and looking and i was kinda interested in a 30-06, then one of the guys that works there, asked if we were looking for anything, and i was like 'im kinda interested in this' and he asked if i was looking for a gun that would give a little hurt or something i would enjoy shooting, and said there was some in the back, so i said 'sure i'd like to see some others' and so he went and brought out 2, and the first one he opened was the one i was looking at online, and i was like 'NO WAY!' lol and he did a price check and it was already knocked off $25, and he let me look at the other one, which was like $400 and i was like 'i like the first one, i've been wanting that one since i saw it online' so i put it on layaway and the total of it cost $275 with the discount and tax. it's the Remington 710. I put it on layaway so i prolly gonna pick it up on the 1st of december, just in time to hunt deer. XD so me and my dad go to my apartment, and go to the answering machine and my sister called and said my mom is in the hospital with a broken ankle. so we went to the hospital and she said she put the mat back where it was supposed to be and went to let the dog out and check the mail, and when she went to put her foot down, she fell and it messed up her ankle pretty bad, she was screaming and calling for the dog (the dog ran off) and when she stopped my sister had to yell at her so she didn't go into shock. my sis also called 911 and one our our friends (the farm owner's wife) and she called my parents' land owners, and they went over and comforted her til the ambulance came, the dog ran down to the horse barn, so the dog is fine. my mom broke her ankle in 2 places, they put her under and put her foot back in place and that wnet ok, then this morning they did the surgery, which only took like 30-45 minutes, and they said she's gonna have to use crutches or a walker to get around for 4-6 weeks. she's pretty stressed out. =\ tonight i went bowling w/my sister in the league she's in since my mom was being a substitute for the guy that's in jail, so that was sortof funny. glad the league isn't anything serious cause i suck. i got like 63 as my average i haven't bowled in quite a few months. keep my mom in your prayers, she'll prolly be stressed over the holidays. =\
Commander 598
R15: Personally, i'd of spent $70-$100 on a Soviet WW2 era Nagant than buy something like that. Those old rifles fall under the category of "Accurate Enough", especially for conditions(READ: Forests of the Southern US) around me which usually limit my visibility to 50 yards, max. Hell, yesterday I was down to the bare minimum for the sights on my Enfield(20 yds). BTW, deer season started in late October around here.
