help designing/with a logo

Heya. I'm trying to put together a logo for my church's youth and college group.

 

Any ideas or help?

j/k. I wonder too, is it supposed to be one of those "hip" "let's get kids back into thinking jesus is cool" "jesus is our homeboy" kinda things? or just your classic setup?

Make circular border, thick and black. The silhouette of the cross (fancy) and a dove (white) to the side with the weed in its mouth (green) like the Modest Mouse cover, no outline on the dove, use white for the border of the shapes instead of black

Meh, perhaps.....or maybe like a shield with a sword in front of it (pointing down) with a banner on top saying something.

Heh, then maybe take the name 'Jesus' off the front of the cool shield and replace it with something like 'Our Savior'. Not neccessarily that exactly, but something that has that look to it. BTW the shields look awesome, RP and Gothix.

I can just post it here, because it's pretty easy: Pen tool, fill shape, bevel&emboss whoring. Tadaa.

And then for the middle he probably just used a gradiant and blended it with a cloud layer.

Did that for every layer, but I figured that was the most basic part anyway.

TiE; looks more like a crosshair on the bird.

 

Information on the logo is kinda basic though RP. Perhaps you should supply some more info for it like the name or the abbreviation of this group?

Well...can you render a good looking shield with a sword facing down the middle? (ie as if it was stuck in ground)

 

Then, have a banner type thing over the whole thing empty...so I could put whatever name in the middle.

And the blue Jesus shield...man. I think Sithy best summed it up: "Jesus: Anti-Virus."
