guybroom
"How come? What's wrong with the schools here in America?" ((Remember he's English)) -------------- Adam wiped his eyes and sat up. "so where to now? We can't go to my base, they'll be waiting for us there. It's getting dark ((a whole day must have gone by by now!)) we should go somewhere like a hotel where they wont recognise or suspect us. What do you think?" LukeKatarn
"Everything." I said intrudeing over their conversation through the comm. "I had the worst time in school, ever. Bullies bullied me, for no reason. Teachers graded me bad, when I got 100% on the test. It was terrible. By the time I got to High School, I was beign home schooled. That didn't last long, and eventually I went to collage. Same thign happened to me there, so I transfered. My next collouge was good. Unlike my elemtrey/middle school and my former collage." Writer
"I agree," Tara said, nodding. "Can you think of a place? I haven't lived here long enough to know every hole in the wall." _____________________________ "I had an easy school experience," Jack said. "It all depends on your school and your popularity. I was a computer nerd, but oddly enough, nobody cared. I was well liked, all the way through college. We teased each other good naturedly, you know. They called me computer nerd and I called them walking anvils... stuff like that."

Writer
Jack laughed. "Too bad. 'Big Freaking Anvil' was a funny guy. He was seven feet tall and weighed as much as about four of me. He could do more pushups than I could count, even with me on his back. Scared everybody else, but he was a really nice guy... died in a car accident two years ago." "The Seven Anvils were great guys too," Jack went on, almost thoughtfully. "But even they were afraid of BFA. When they saw me talking to him, they freaked out, but I introduced them. I still see five of them occasionally. Two moved to California or somewhere over there. We chat over email from time to time." He sighed. "Listen to us... Tara's in very great danger somewhere and we're talking about school?" Shaking his head, he fell silent and stared at the floor.
guybroom
"Yeah, we're talking about school, but what else are we going to do? Tara's on her own and there is nothing we can really do now." He paused for a minute thinking. "I never found school to be that bad. There was a small group of people though that tried to bully me," he laughed, "they were failiers, it was funny really. They tried to get me into trouble, but i never cared, they never succeded and actually, when I got arrested for murder, one of the girls was one of the group." He sat down and sighed. "I didnt know who they were ... It's a long story, I dont want to talk about it." --------------- "I don't know this area well either. Let's just drive around and find a place to stop, their are always small hotels and stuff around. I think we should go to one of the smaller one s though, the large one's might recognise us from the news."
jokemaster
"What's wrong with that? This clears your mind. Keeps you from panicking. It's not as if though she's hanging off a bridge or something. In any case I guess I missed out a bit. I don't know, having a 7 foot tall best friend sounds cool."
Curt-Man
Trent came back into the room where everyone was and heard them talking about thier experiences in school. "hmm, i was the loner of the school, middle school no one cared, however in high school people teased me so mcuh that one day in grade 11 i got so mad at a guy and i threw the hardest punch i could and he went down in one hit, i was suspened for that, so i joined the army, they said I had alot of talent and raw skills, once i got to the rank of Master Corperal i was picked up by the FBI, because liked how i handeled myself in the army so they let me in, plus i was recommdend by my commanding officer. I got all the training they could offer, i even because a master at Judo. eventually i left, i dunno why i jsut did, so i decided, hey i think i'll try out the CIA, they accepted me with welcome arms, and ive been here ever since." Writer
"Well I guess different backgrounds make for different people," Jack said, glancing around the room. He sighed and thought of Tara. Thoughts of her brought a smile to his face and he started talking about her. "Tara's got interesting school stories too," he said. "I've known her since Kindergarten. She had to be the wildest girl I'd ever known. A lot of the boys did a bunch of crazy stuff, which isn't all that unusual, but Tara beat them all. One winter in seventh grade, the snow was high enough for some of the guys to get on the roof of the school. It was deep enough in other places that they decided to jump off the roof and into the snow. Teachers freaked out." "Tara was right up there with the rest of them," Jack continued. "She jumped at least five times. Just after she got up to go a sixth, the teachers came over to put an end to the fun. They told Tara to get down and she couldn't resist jumping one last time." He laughed softly. "She jumped wrong and broke her left leg. To make things worse, she also hit her head on the side of the building... lost her memory too. With a little help from the rest of us, she managed to get most of it back, but she still doesn't remember that day and there are other events she doesn't remember also." "We had an idea," he went on, his voice growing husky as his eyes filled with tears, "back in our junior year of high school. We were both smart enough to start college early and both of us did so. We went to the same college and started working on the game during our first year. We got a few friends together and went to work at it. Two years later, it was finished. Both of us were still going through college, but we started skipping classes to be in the game, modifying it." "That's when Adam hijacked it," Jack said fiercely. "Tara told me it had something to do with his feelings for her and her reaction to him." He stood and angrily kicked his chair away. "And that's the man we've allowed to take her? I can't sit here." Jack left the building in a hurry and climbed a nearby tree. Taking a seat there, he stared through the leaves at the city.

Writer
"And what if I do?" Jack demanded, refusing to look at Trent. He sighed and dropped out of the tree. Looking up at it, he allowed himself a small smile. "I haven't climbed a tree since I was eight." He followed Trent back into the building. ____________________________ Tara and Adam pulled into a hotel and got a room. With a sigh, Tara dropped onto one of the two beds and was soon asleep. guybroom
Troezen spoke to Trent in a whisper in the corner where no one else could hear. "are you sure that saying you're friend died, is the best thing to say in this situation with Tara? I know you're the boss here, but you might want to watch what you say, I got worried when you said Tara might die." --------- Adam was in the room with Tara. He sat on the other bed watching Tara sleep. He thought about how long he had waited and then he went over to Tara and kissed her cheeks. He whispered softly. "we'll get them soon. Writer
Tara awoke before Adam and slipped out of his arms to sit on the edge of the bed. She stared out the window and then turned toward the TV. She wondered if any news of the end of the game had been announced yet. Turning the TV on and putting it on mute, she watched as videos of the game were played. They showed her face, Adam's face, and Jack's face repeatedly throughout their broadcast. "What are you up to now?" Tara said quietly as Jack's picture came up on the screen again. Her back was turned to Adam and she suddenly frowned. She hoped that she'd sounded angry enough if Adam were awake to hear her. _____________________________ Jack sighed and nodded. "You're right." guybroom
((WJ - i think that the first few posts i did said the news knew about the game and at one point the news said the game finished, so there would be news about the game finishing)) Adam slowly woke up.
