Woman arrested for deleting bf's game data

She was arrested because Linage II is a major "money earning business" in her country.

Koreans/Japanese/Chinese farm things in a few ways.

For companies...

One, the company pays people to just farm (stay at once place and kill kill kill) their 8 hour shifts or whatever, and another person sits down and continues it....so the farming happens literally 24/7. They then take what they farmed and sell it.

Two, LII is a pvp game. They pay people to start lower level characters and "annoy" other players to the point where the players will player kill them. That flags them for "pvp" since they attacked someone without them attacking first. A higher level employee that was hiding then pops out and kills the other player's group, then loots their gear, and the company sells it online.

For personal people, they do the above but simply EBay whatever gear they gain.

His girl probably deleted his character...which would mean possibly getting fired if he works for a company or at least setting back a company. If he was doing it for himself, it's still considered a major "money making" career. Pretty much, it's just as if someone went to your office and threw your computer out the window. You're gonna get sent to jail.

These "farmers" are hated in just about every game because they ruin the financial company. They farm the best gear in the game and put INSANE and huge prices on the market. There are rich players, so they buy it for their characters. Problem is this....not everyone is rich...and soon, no one can afford anything except for the few rich characters in game. The farmers literally live off the rich players. They farm loot, sell it ingame for huge prices, then sell their profit online.

Lineage II is an exception....because the people who run the game are actually FROM the Japan/Korean/China type areas. They encourage the behaviour of having high levels hide in areas to player kill entire groups of other players who have no way to defend themselves without dying. If they don't, their country loses money.

This is why I unsuscribed from Linage II.

It's just how those countries make a lot of money.

Very lame.

L2 sucks anyways.

I think she was arrested because she illegally accessed his account. It wasn't her account, so she shouldn't have accessed it. It would be as if I accessed everyone's LF account and deleted your posts. That's illegal, and I'm sure I could get in big trouble for it.

The way lineage 2 is set up, deleteing someone elses data would be equal to theft and destruction of property.

You all fail. cept zed and phreak, they win

I wonder if Japanese can live without their videogames?

Why the hell does that matter?

Seriously do you all not understand the concept of theft and destruction of another property?

I can see why she was arrested. You have to pay for games like that monthly. She probably deleted about $300+ worth of work and toil.

It depends on how long her boyfriend was playing, im guessing a few months already too. Could be $300 or even more

Dont worry she'll be back, the most is she'll get jailed for 6 months or 7 months or so. They dont go hard on women....

Uh-oh...

My girl friend uses the same login as me on my computer...

And I have many a game save files on it.

Dear lord what have I done :indif:

Meh, I probably wouldn't bring the cops into it. I'd just do what any self-respecting man would do... scrape the dog poo for a week off the park grass, let it ferment for another week. And gradually put a cube of it in her coffee. Then everynight I would make animal love to her, being the only one who would know how dirty she was...

:fist:
