i dont see why the jedi would disband just because there are no sith to fight. even if the republic wanted nothing to do with the jedi, there would still be a jedi order. if you want to do a story about a hidden jedi order then you would have to give a reason why the jedi are hidden.

 

hunted by the sith is already too common but its really the only thing the jedi would hide from. maybe you can do something about all their padawans following some dark jedi master. they would have to stay hidden to keep the dark jedi from recruiting anymore. the dark jedi has found a way to manipulate those weaker in the force, he plans to turn them to his side but to the jedi masters it looks as if the padawans willingly joined with him. the dark master converts most of the padawans, the others are held captive. the main character will fight these dark jedi but they will have actual names and dialog rather than swarms of people with lightsabers. he turns one of the first one he fights after defeating him/her and recruits that jedi to help him save the others.

 

anyway thats just an example, i'm sure you'll think of something better. if you liked any of those ideas and want more just say so. you should probably get at least 3 people together to do the story. it'd make it a lot better if 2 people can question the other to make sure everything makes sense and adds up.

I may have made myself unclear, disbanded is a little bit of an overstatement. What I ment is that they have weakened greatly(They are unsuspecting as well as low in number).

 

I have been getting a lot of pms about story ideas that are a bit too much in the style of kotor/nwn. I am trying to steer away from that and gear toward the real star wars movies and Jedi Knight. I will also be changin the music to the original star wars music, the kotor stuff is just too neverwinter nightsy if you get my meaning.

 

And something i would like help with is changin the sounds. I tried to do this in KOTOR 1 but it didnt work, and you cannot decompress them with Miles tools so if there is any other way and somebody KNOWS what i am doing wrong please help out because i want to change the saber sounds blaster sounds and a few others to be more like the real starwars as well. Once again thanks for all the help.

Gscc, if you intend to pick up the story after Episode 6, it's already written...Shadows of the Empire.

 

You could get tons of your main plot and story from those books.

 

It sounds like you are intending to make a side story to those books... which is fine and great. However, I would use those books as sort of your creative "bible."

 

Just a thought.

No, no, no. This is not a episode 7 ist not right after, forget i even mentioned that. Consider this as random as episode IV was when it came out. It is a completely different story.

I think you mean Heir to the Empire, the Thrawn Trilogy. Shadows of the Empire takes place between Ep5 and Ep6, with Dash Rendar, Black Sun, Prince Xizor.

 

Anyway what planets will you plan on visiting in this new mod Gsccc? Will you use the retuxtured Taris of the Coruscant cutscene ingame to make Coruscant? What other places would you like to implement?

no, it's not the problem in NPCs.. they are all OK..

 

The problem is you can only tag 2 along...or is it?

 

In BG2 you had more party NPCs and you could "only" tag 5 along.

In order to experience tham all you had to play the game a few times over. but that wasn't a problem wiht BFG2, since it offered more replayability - different quests and areas for different chars in party and different player race/class.

KOTOR/KOTOR 2 don't have that - that's their weakest point, not the charachters...

GSCCC, I've got a lot of experience with story writing and a good background in English so I'd love to help you, either with story ideas or helping to refine current ones. I'd also love to help skinning some things as I am looking to get into modding games and being a small part of the big whole would be a good way to get started.

It's possible they could go into hiding simply because the world became to dependant on them or loathed them too much. Depends where in the time-line you add it but in a time where the Sith/Dark side Jedis are relatively scarce, Jedis could possibly thrive and be trained but then be relied on too often for dealing with galaxy problems so they remove htemselves from the public eye to allow the Universe to develop without them.

 

On the flipside, depending on the time, Jedis maybe loathed for failing to act in something or having too much power because of hteir numbers and obvious force abilities.

 

Following KOTOR2, there are only about 6 known Jedis including Revan, Bastila and the Exile so thats another reason. Few Jedis left to train jedis. From that, a host of unrestrained natural force users could develop neither Jedi nor Sith.

 

 

Following people like Kreia and Nihilus, the council (remaning - must be some hidden jedi still) may realise that the results of a Jedi, especially a skilled one falling to the dark side has too much impact on the Universe and so decides to keep their numbers relatively small, only training and controlling few numbers to be extremely powerful and consumed in the light side.

 

They could disband for their own good feeling that too many different Jedis influencing one another can have adverse results similar to the Exile forging powerful bonds with Jedis or a corrupted master influencing several students so they adopt the Sith law of master and apprentice without the killing your master part.

 

It's all dependant on time-line but workable either way, reasons can be developed for any scenario.

First off I would like to say thank you to all the helpfull volunteers for coming to my call of aid. I am at the point right now where I have finished the outline of the mod and know what direction I am going. I ran into a setback that could have posed a large problem, but thanks to the most wonderful Darth333 that is all sorted out. As for voice actors your calling will be soon, I am getting to the sith base part on Yavin, and there are quite a few cutscenes there for you to speak in. For the storyline refinement people, we will have to work in a chat invironment so that my pm box does not get full. UPDATE

Got the Intro Starwars Crawl working!!!!! Finally thanks to our very own Darth333, it appears that i will no longer be able to auto initiate movies by puting the script in the ScriptSpawn header of the npc as i did in KOTOR 1. But we figured out how to make it work so thats all good.

I talked with our inhouse studio guy and he had some questions as far as what you will need for audio files (i.e. format, rate, hrtz, etc etc.)

 

I have no idea what Kotor uses for it's audio, so I'm throwing it back to you all. He has a Pro-Tools rig, and can bounce out any format (basically) you need Gscc.
