lil_dude Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 he's dead, if he wasn't he would've gota fake hand and then came back to own Anakin, because Mace is the best saber Jedi in the galaxy, so because he didn't decide to take down Palpetine again or try and kill Anakin for cutting his hand off, he died.

Mace was very skilled with the LS and obviously defeated Palpetine and could defeat any other force user if not blind sided like Anakin did to him. But Mace lacks the insight that Yoda has and thus never saw the attack coming. But no one beats Mace Windu with a LS. Did you see him in Ep. 2, he was blocking many blaster shots with ease and sometimes without ever looking and then easily defeated Jango.
Smilodon Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I'm not sure if Sidious would have beaten Mace. In Ep III he had a pretty desperate expression when he was trying to fight Mace off... But that could also mean Ian McDiarmid is too old for sword fighting in SciFi movies

Yea, I agree, Mace is more a swordsman than a highly skilled force user. Though the scenes in the Geonosian arena and especially the fight Mace vs. Jango was made pretty poor imo ~~

I thought it was clear that Yoda was the most skilled swordsman in the galaxy (besides Sidious, who they didn't know about). If Windu is better, why do they use Yoda in the examples? If you'd spend as much time working on your saber technique as you do your wit you would rival Master Yoda as a swordsman But we're going off topic with this.
TK-8252 Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 The way I see it, Mace Windu is the better swordsman (Yoda couldn't handle Sidious but Mace had him pinned). But Yoda is stronger and wiser in the Force. Sidious was intended to have lost the fight with Mace, and if Anakin didn't show up... things wouldn't have looked good for Sidious.

TK-8252 Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Originally posted by DarthMoeller But I don't think he would have acted the way he did if he knew Anakin wasn't coming. What could he have done to get himself out of the corner when Mace has him pinned?

I don't think he would have known Anakin was coming since he was concentrated so much on Mace.

Thanks for clearing that up.
MdKnightR Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Do the words "door nail" ring a bell? He's dead!
Pho3nix Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 I dunno...well there is always hope. So I guess he still lives
Writer Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Ya, he's dead. Oh, and his hand and saber didn't fall out the window. In the book, just after Anakin chops the hand off, he's described as sitting there, staring at the hand holding the lightsaber and wondering what the hell he'd just done.
lil_dude Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 He obviously died, no one could survive a fall like that.
TK-8252 Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Recently the SW.com databank updated the entry on Mace Windu and yup, he's dead. Any EU source that "resurrects" him is wrong. (Of course, that won't stop them from creating a story how some Separatist mad scientist clones him and raises him to be evil right? )
Yun yuny Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 He landed on something then he forgot everything so hes not Windu anymore...
Leviathan Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 But the fall was vertiginous ! And even if he had survived, he would have been annihilated by Security's Clones...
DarthTDe Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 I think it would have been a bit more dramatic for Anakin to have hit Padme with a dose of force lightning. This would have been symbolic of his rage. Choking was just a little too "subtle". They were following the Vader legacy. He always Choked,he never shocked.that's Palpatine's thing.Oh,BTW,i say alive.I know that Lucas Says dead,But He couldn't be killed that easily.I think he survived the fall,by landing on Some "car" Like Anakin did on AOTC,and Sidious sent clones to search for him and he was killed by the clones.
fuzzyfreaker Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Why are we having this conversation? He's dead. There's no reason to doubt it. He's a toasty fresh windu pancake.
El Sitherino Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Uh.. I'd be more inclined to believe he was killed by a Sith Lord than some little clones.

The official site says he crashed lifelessly into the ground. Please lock this thread already, someone. It's not worthy of LucasForums.
