Astrotoy7
I thought I might as well get this going. It might even be worth stickying ?? Im sure many are eagerly awaiting the DVD of ROTS, even though it is still in the theaters And for those unwilling to go to Mexico for their bootleg here is the place to discuss it I have read various sources that the ROTS DVD will be out well in time for Christmas, with the tentative date being late November... Now it seems GL has followed Peter Jacksons lead in actually saving some GOOD cut scenes for the DVD, unlike the ho-hum ones that were in the TPM and AOTC DVD.... Feel free to add more that you know of, but the key deleted scenes at this stage seem to be : *"Crazy Yoda" scene.... Yoda and some wookies take down an AT-PT(?) This is of course following the issuing of Order 66. *Yoda communicates with Qui Gon, who explains a bit more about the "Ghost" thingy This is near the end, on the asteroid base. All we see of this now is yoda in a meditative like state, slowly opening his eyes for when Bail Organa announced obi has made contact *More Jedi Purge: -Barris Offee on Felucia(same planet as aayla), -Luminara(if I havent got them mixed up!) on kasshyk -Saesee Tinn in the Jedi Temple...a snippet of this was in one of the trailers The one I want to see : -Anakin killing Shaak Ti in the jedi temple *Of course, the other very important scene that was cut was the "Rebel" senators discussion.... I hope this may make it back into the movie, rather than just the special features disc... *More Grievous.... this has been confirmed by Matt Wood, the LFL sound guy who supplied Grievous voice. I didnt read anything about what particular scene.... Im looking forward to it already ! and we can only drool about the ultimate edition, perhaps in 2007 for the 30th anniversary ?? mtfbwya

I too would like to see the crazy Yoda scene, and some kind of meeting between Mothma and Organa would also be great. But frankly, I think Lucas should try to include these scenes in the movie for the DVD version, like the extended LotR movies. If the scenes are only there on the bonus features DVD like in AotC and TPM, there's no real point.

Then Kit Fisto >_> I do hope you're right about extra Grievous fighting. Because that would make this film a 9/
Darth Andrew
Originally posted by Prime I'd like to see expanded battle scenes... Agreed. Come on, the Battle of Kashyyk wasn't a battle, it was more like a two-minute bar fight.

Jeff
I'm glad they're planning on having the part with Qui-Gon. I was disapointed in theaters when they didn't show that.
OmegaNothing
Has anyone officially denied or confirmed that the Qui Gon scene was even filmed? I really hope it exists and gets on the dvd. I'd be happy to accept only one deleted scene on the dvd if it meant it was the Qui Gon scene.
Ockniel
okay, someone I know went to see an advanced screening in new york, and when he was there they gave him a ticket to redeme somewhere t oget the SW DVD, so he has that now, and he says that the movie is over 3 hours long, and I believe he mentioned a glance at the room of a thousand fountains in the jedi temple, and hearing qui-gon jinn. (I don't know if it actaully showed him) (btw just to brag on him, he met liam neeson at the advanced screening)
OmegaNothing
That would be pretty cool if its true.... but how could they release an Ep III dvd now when its still in the cinema... It would be too easy to rip them onto PC then make it available to download. How how many of those dvd's did they supposedly give out?
Astrotoy7
hehe... interesting to see this thread before it got 328,000 views and contributed to LFs post epIII downtime.... anyways, the DVD has been given an official release date.... November 8th !! not far to go at all... Looking forward to the deleted scenes/commentary especially on this one So far the Official Site has confirmed the Rebel Senators Scene linky has a cpl of pics... an extremely significant scene. Why GL left it out is puzzling, and hopefully it gets back into the actual film....but that is not yet confirmed... for those who really want to know what goes on in this scene...highlight to read. (Not a huge secret, as its in the published script, but I'll spoiler tag it anyway) 81 INT. CORUSCANT-BAIL ORGANA'S OFFICE-DAY PADME, BAIL ORGANA, and SENATORS MON MOTHMA, FANG ZAR, TERR TANEEL, and GIDDEAN DANU sit in Senator Organa 's office. BAIL ORGANA: Now that he has control of the Jedi Council, the Chancellor has appointed Governors to oversee all star systems in the Republic. FANG ZAR: When did this happen? BAIL ORGANA: The decree was posted this morning. PADME: Do you think he will dismantle the Senate? MON MOTHMA: Why bother? As a practical matter, the Senate no longer exists. GIDDEAN DANU: The constitution is in shreds. Amendment after amendment . . . executive directives, sometimes a dozen in one day. BAIL ORGANA: We can't let a thousand years of democracy disappear without a fight. EVERYONE looks at each other, a little worried at the implications of what was just said. TERR TANEEL: What are you suggesting? BAIL ORGANA: I apologize. I didn't mean to sound like a Separatist. MON MOTHMA: We are not Separatists trying to leave the Republic. We are loyalists, trying to preserve democracy in the Republic. BAIL ORGANA: It has become increasingly clear to many of us that the Chancellor has become an enemy of democracy. PADME: I can't believe it has come to this! Chancellor Palpatine is one of my oldest advisors. He served as my Ambassador when I was Queen. GlDDEAN DANU: Senator, I fear you underestimate the amount of corruption that has taken hold in the Senate. MON MOTHMA: The Chancellor has played the Senators well. They know where the power lies, and they will do whatever it takes to share in it. Palpatine has become a dictator and we have helped him to do it. BAIL ORGANA: We can't sit around debating any longer, we have decided to do what we can to stop it. Senator Mon Mothma and I are putting together an organization . . . PADME: Say no more. Senator Organa. I understand. At this point, it's better to leave some things unsaid. BAIL ORGANA: Yes. I agree and we must not discuss this with anyone, without everyone in this group agreeing. MON MOTHMA: That means those closest to you . . . even family ... no one can be told. They ALL nod their heads. PADME considers this for a moment. PADME: Agreed. 116 INT. CORUSCANT-CHANCELLOR'S OFFICE-SUNSET PALPATINE listens to a delegation from the Senate, which includes PADME and five other Senators: NEE ALAVAR, FANG ZAR, MALEDEE, SWEITT CONCORKILL, and MON CALAMARI. ANAKIN stands to one side of PALPATINE. PALPATINE: I understand your reservations completely, Senator, and I assure you the appointment of Governors will in no way compete with the duties of the Senate. PADME: May I take it then, that there will be no further amendments to the Constitution? PALPATINE: I want this terrible conflict to end as much as you do, My Lady, and when it does I guarantee an immediate return to democracy . . . PADME: You are pursuing a diplomatic solution to the war, then. PALPATINE: You must trust me to do the right things, Senator. That is why I am here. FANGZAR: But surely . . . The Chancellor turns on FANG ZAR. PALPATINE: I have said I will do what is right, that should be enough for your . . . committee. PADME: On behalf of the "delegation of two thousand," I thank you, Chancellor. PALPATINE: I thank you for bringing this to my attention, Senator. PADME gives ANAKIN a frustrated look, then turns and exits with the other FIVE SENATORS. PALPATINE turns to ANAKIN. PALPATINE: (continuing) Their sincerity is to be admired, although I sense there is more to their request than they are telling us. ANAKIN: What do you mean? PALPATINE: They are not to be trusted. ANAKIN: Surely Senator Amidala can be trusted . . . PALPATINE: These are unstable times for the Republic, Anakin. Some see instability as an opportunity. Senator Amidala is hiding something. I can see it in her eyes. ANAKIN: I'm sure you're mistaken. PALPATINE: I'm surprised your Jedi insights are not more sensitive to such things. ANAKIN: I simply don't sense betrayal in Senator Amidala. PALPATINE studies ANAKIN carefully and gives him a skeptical look. PALPATINE: Yes, you do, but you don't seem to want to admit it. There is much conflict in you, Anakin.... mtfbwya
DarthTDe
I'm glad they're planning on having the part with Qui-Gon. I was disapointed in theaters when they didn't show that. I've read time and time again that there is no Qui-gon scene. If there was, they probably had to pay him like,$100,000,for that one scene.'Cause he hated being in TPM,and he regrets it.But,that's why it's called a rumor.Oh,yeah! It comes out November 1st along with Battlefront II.
