Bastila
It looks good sounds good but my mini goes flat within 2hrs or less i hope the life on this one is good and lasts as long as it says.
access_flux
In my opinion nothing looks better than the iPod. It looks beautiful and has a great interface. Nothing I've seen competes so far. I'm gonna buy an iPod nano when I get a job.. are you serious? ipods are the microsoft of the mp3 realm and they should be banned. i would go for an iriver if when and if i delve into this area. cheaper, and nicer and not as crappy music transfer interface. toms
looks gorgeous, but I still haven't been convinced of the point of ~4gb drives. Its more space than you need to store a playlist or two of songs, but not enough for all your albums.. Still, i guess if its cheap and flash based then you might as well get a 4gb one as a 1gb one. BongoBob
I saw a commercial for it last night while watching fox. I think in was during the war at home, I can't remember, but it didn't look faked, and it was the same as the pic tie showed.
TiE23
Too many buttons on the Creative things, and scroll wheel is so much fun to mess with. The Zen Micro has one extra button that is really great. Its subject sensitive (or something like that) It lets you see the song info, bit level of the song, play mode, and how many times the song you choose has been played before. (So I know I have listened to the entire Demon Days CD around 20 times. ) My bro has an iPod, and it still bugs me that it doesn't actually have an off button. Its either sleep or put it on pause and lock it for 5 minutes.

Acrylic
Que? AOL take back their iPod? After it got all scratched from some of my friends who stole my iPod from me (not actually stole it, but just took it out to borrow it for a class hour to listen to music without asking and returning it back because I was one of the only kids with an iPod), and I wanted money, and didn't see a need for an mp3 player for a while. Once I start making some serious money (at least $300 a month ) I'm going to get another mp3 player. And right now, the nano seems like a nice choice. It's nice, because it's not all that noticable, unlike the normal iPod which is huge. And for a guy who doesn't wear really baggy pants (some would even call my pants tightish), an mp3 player like this would be nice.
TiE23
Ahh yes. Its flash. Less space, more battery life, smaller size. The thing that sets it off is the color screen. Pretty bitching. Wouldn't mind getting it myself.
ET Warrior
(some would even call my pants girly)That we would indeed. ^_^ As for the nano, that thing is mighty tiny, and I really don't see the point of having something so small. My Zen is the perfect size for carrying around, it either fits in a cargo pocket or a side pocket with no troubles, and it holds every song that I own. I'm far too lazy to goto the trouble of changing songs all the time, so I'd have to be VERY selective about what I put on a 4GB model.

It's the fact that the Nano is flash based. Which means gapless playback, and I really don't have to worry about dropping the nano and cry over the 300 dollars that's in kingdom come. Arstechnica said that most normal drops, like dropping it from standing high or even a slowish bike ride would hardly scratch it. That'd be awesome for someone clumsy, like, me. ET Warrior
And understandable bonus, flash memory is, but until they can get 20+ gigs in flash, I'll be sticking with my physical drives.

Thats the problem I have with my flash player, i almost never get around to changing the songs... so its always the same ones over and over. Still, a 4gb flash unit (nano) makes far more sense than a 4gb HD unit (mini) as at least you can use it for sport etc...

El Sitherino
that thing will break in an instant, or ull lose it in ur wallet or use it as a credit card...no go...get the ipod 20gig... Nah. It's no more breakable than any other iPod. They al have to go through usability standards, that includes resistance to common scenarios. i cant believe they took away the mini and ipod...they only have U2, shuffle, nano and photo! well there's no reason to get the mini, and the photo (as said by acrylic) is now the price of the regular iPod. So... yeah, no point.
