El Sitherino Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Click So it seems they decided to remove the ads and let loose with full version for free. Good news, as it also seems to be more stable than I remember.
Mex Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I remember trying it a while back. I hated it. Long live IE7!
toms Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Er. Ok... (are comments like that a bannable offence??? ) Its a good move, but its probably too late. Opera is a very nice browser, very fast and with loads of cool features (more than firefox out of the box, so obviously loads more than IE). Its also more stable and probably more secure than either firefox or IE. Problem is that firefox has stolen its thunder, and the awesome firefox extensions become indispensible once you get used to them... so even though opera is probably more stable than firefox, I don't think i'll be going back. Its good that they've also stopped their policy of copying IE's broken layout model and pretending to be IE, and actually started being standards compliant and being themselves. Good for them, but its too late for me...
Darth Groovy Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Begun this browser war has.... I'll stick with Mozilla Firefox. Thanks anyways.
Clemme w/Stick Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Tried it... Learned about Firefox... 'nuff said. -Clemme
Alegis Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Buy "premium support"; what a joke. I love FF, but i'll give it a try
El Sitherino Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 Well this was more of an announcement for those people that didn't like firefox and stuck with IE. I personally use FireFox, but the whole point of this is to alert people that Opera is now completely free with no banners or anything.
TiE23 Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Never tried it, only IE and FF, and Netscape a long time ago. I'll just stick with FF, cause its awesome. toms said: Er. Ok... (are comments like that a bannable offence??? ) ERRT... no. If hating gets you banned, then I should get banned for this: I hate Hitler!!!!

Lynk Former Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 toms said: IE = Hitler Opera = Brad Pitt FF = Gandhi I second that.
jon_hill987 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I like the idea of having combined Email, I'll give it a go if the download isn't too big... Oh, and IE is worse than Hitler... You wouldn't find Hitler embeding himself in windows so you couldn't get rid of him.
Rogue Nine Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I dunno. My Gandhi is looking exceptionally sexier than Brad Pitt.
