REDJOHNNYMIKE Posted January 20, 2006 Author Share Posted January 20, 2006 Update: I've been having trouble actually getting the beta to testers, but I have started doing more refinements....I'm going back through and fixing all locked or scripted doors to make it easier for plug-n-mod:D edit: I finished the doors in EBO-CIVY docks. Edit: I'll add the locations for transit systems here VVV so testers or anyone else interested doesn't have to DL them. I am going to release it as is (unless you found something else;)) and as I (and hopefully others who actually have skills:lol:) make modifications to it I'll update the download, so by the time I start implementing story related content the "starter kit" should be a fully functional capital ship. My main reason for doing this is to get something out there asap and get even more interest and suggestions (not that everyone's suggestions so far are anything to sneeze at;)) I'd like to DL it soon, I'm just waiting for the green light from all the cool people:D I've sent the files out to everyone interested, but currently Devon (more than helpful enough, by the way:)) is the only one who's responded. I am actually working on the ships next main feature, the Primary A.I., who will grant access to most ship systems. Currently I'm just getting started on the skin, she's based mainly on Cortana from Halo, and from a technical standpoint Andromeda. So my big new topic for the project is this... What color scheme do you think would best suit a Star Wars holographic A.I.? Since Cortana is the inspiration I've planned on a blue/purple combo, but I'm arting it in a way that I can change the colors easily so any color suggestions will be seriously considered. I know it would help if you could see the skin, but I don't have enough finished to really give an idea of the final product. I'll release it soon, and since both you and rgdelta thought the dialog should be skippable I'll make that my next "fix", I might do the skipfix as an update instead of having a delay so I can get used to how the host sites update mod versions, but don't worry I'm not going to give up work on the hologal:D @Lando, That sounds pretty good, I might end up using it but it's a ways from the color being finalized. I've thought of the possibility of using a "mood ring" for her textures, either changing shades/colors corresponding to her conveyed emotions, or maybe just a different color scheme depending on "mode of operation" like blue green for Information Retrieval or grey/yellow for Ship Repair Downtime, etc. @D-MO, I do like the standard holograms, but I want to try and seperate the ship's "personalities" from standard-communication audio/visual devices. I'll still use "holotex.tpc" for all communications (if you're on another planet and the ship's A.I. contacts you they will appear over communication channels just as blue as everyone else) and most holocrons/recordings/etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Have it spawn next to you as a little droid or have it 'emit' from your commlink (just spawn mr. holo) And do the dialogue that way.
