Star Wars Galaxies

I played from launch left for a month or two came back to find hundreds of jedi dancing infront of Stormtroopers and Vader *who did nothing* decided to leave because this wasnt Star Wars.

Then i heard about the NGE joined for a month to test it out found it was worse than before even less StarWars like and a overly buggy and poor control system.

This game is the worst MMORPG i've ever played *in the past i have played UO,WOW,COH,Eve,GW,PS and A bunch of FREE koreon games that still managed to be better than SWG*.

I advise all against buying this as at the moment your playing a very very poor beta with only under a months testing done on it.

I haven't even played a trial and from these chees-o-rama "enhancement" packs they have been releasing I am just disgusted. And now they had to throw HK-47 into the mix which has ruined the Kotor franchise because we know no-matter WHAT happens in Kotor 3 Hk-47 will survive :dozey:.

Unless Sony has the gaul to put into the already horrid mix that there is a second HK-47, or an HK-47 clone, but I don't want to give them any ideas...

My Conclusion - Star Wars Galaxies; Total Waste of time and money, and it will ruin your Kotor experience :(

The Good:

Character customization. I've never seen such in-depth character

customization in ANY game, let alone in one about Star Wars. My

favorite races to try were Human and Twi-Lek, but that's because

I prefer beauty over brawn in my characters. I liked how you could

even choose how far your nose and chin protruded from your face!

The option to choose the Light or Dark Side even in the free trial.

(Spoiler) Oo-tay oo-day is-thay, ake-may e-thay ard-guay in-ay

e-thay antina-cay urious-fay instead-ay of-fay alming-cay im-hay

own-day. I thought I had to pay for the game to go Dark Side. Nope!

The Bad:

Quests that didn't make much sense, as in: "Learn about the light side

of the Force. Go squash some bugs and smash some malfunctioning droids."

Piloting. I found it way too confusing to be any fun for me. However, I

did get somewhat good at the turret game at the beginning of the tutorial.

I wasn't really all that impressed with the rest of the graphics beyond the

initial character customization. Heck, I'd rather play in any atrium in Guild

Wars than in Star Wars. And I must say, Chewbacca's lips look rather

feminine when you see him go "Rrrrowwwrr" in one of your dialogue boxes.

No Jedi Beginner's Lightsaber. At least in KOTOR I, one of the requirements

of your becoming a Jedi was building a lightsaber and learning to use it.

The Ugly:

The $15 per month playing fee. To me, this is TOTALLY not worth it.

Trandoshan and Rodian females. They're males with hair, which looks weird.

No sense of real accomplishment, or of real roleplaying, for me, who loves to RP.

Verdict: Even EverQuest was better, even though the graphics were worse.

Well, they mean that HK-47 has a role in the newest Galaxies Expansion. This means we lore 'our' character, and we now know HK will survive Kotor 3, instaed of stylish...

He might not survive still i seriously doubt anyone pays attention to SOEs bastard version of the Star Wars universe.

SOE dont even pay attention to what Lucas has done in the movies why would anyone care what they have to say?
