REDJOHNNYMIKE
@RH, I didn't say it was the ideal main plot ship, just a simple artillery vessel to whet the appetite:D About yours, it sounds like it would tax a frigate's power system, while still being to underpowered for a "dream" ship...Defenses are decent, but I'd have added metaphasic shielding and fluidic space bio-adaptive armor(to get a nice tan, and keep those pesky borg out), a cloaking device is useful, but why no phase cloak? (one of my slightly more ideal ships uses a phase cloaking system and some sweet quantum couplings to allow multiple copies of the ship tied together in the same space/time location, effectivelly giving you one ship as powerful as an armada, which is undetectable, which can also pass through enemy ships while secretly dropping of boarding parties), you do have a nice phaser setup for a small ship, but I'm not sure about your torpedos, you didn't specify wether your gatlings are two sets of counterrotating launcher arrays or 4 single multirotational pods, and if you're only going to go with 2 Rom R-torps you would probably want some lower classes to back them up due to longer charge times, but hey, I can't complain about putting fighters on board, a good carrier can take a BS down no sweat:D One serious trek error though, if your beer and earl-grey are rattling all over the place, you probably have a malfunction in your inertial dampers, if you don't address the problem your ships bridge will have some nice new decoration sticking out of the viewscreen (you). BOT: they all have their pros and cons, but I've always found something to enjoy about each series:D
Vladimir-Vlada
What's wrong with Voyager and Deep Space 9? I used to watch them every night during the summer vacation and boy was it swell. Although in Voyager near the end, they started crawling in on the officer's personal lives (That episode with Paris and Torres dicussing whether they should have a baby or not... Made me switch the channel before it finished). From the Star Trek films: I think that they shouldn't stop with making those films, since they are all great and they should be remembered. As long as they continue with Picard, I am happy; They really should make more films with Picard rather than Kirk (not that Kirk is great, but still Picard is still a legend). [off topic] Insane Sith, who is that in your Avatar image? That, my friend, is an actress that comes from my country. Her name is Alexandra Garashanin (I think that that is her last name). Of course I had to edit out a possible content problem. Source, beware of finger.

I got a little annoyed how Picard became some sort of action hero in the last three movies considering, barging onto the enemy stronghold with phaser rifle in hand. TheGreenGoblin
I know but it left Riker and Worf without anything to do.
Vladimir-Vlada
Yeah that's stupid, I admit. Worf was the civilised a** kicker that deserves at least one episode dedicated to him where all he does his command the defense of any planet. And defends the planet himself. The Doctor
The most recent Star Trek movies don't follow the odd even rule - everything since First Contact has been a little iffy. Especially Nemesis. Stupid Spiner:cry6: Anyway, I'm glad Enterprise got cancelled. It had a few good episodes, but some were just remakes of ToS episodes. Like that religous war episode? It was trying to be "May this be your last battlefield" - I think that's the ToS episode's name. The Borg episode was good. Although it did introduce a major continuity error, but it tied up a few lose ends as well. And besides, it's Rick Berman - continuity errors are his thing. Thanks! At first I thought that it was a nudity content problem. Pretty face, but the rest is kinda blah.
RedHawke
@RH: About yours, it sounds like it would tax a frigate's power system, while still being to underpowered for a "dream" ship... Well, we'll have to dust off the old FASA Star Trek Starship Combat Game and I'll have to school you on how things work on a starship! I have excess power generation, trust me! Seriously, the new-show systems you mentioned all have flaws or limited single uses (Metaphasic Shields, Phased Cloaks, Species-8472 Bio-Armor, etc.). You don't need all your new-show 'fluff' systems to make a great 'dream' ship. As to where the cans rattling around comes from is that my crew started with a Tug/Tender, and were not yet in Star Fleet... good times! Though once Babylon 5 came onto the scene, Star Trek ships lost some of their appeal to me. Before the forums had that small glitch and we lost like 2 weeks of posts, there was a post your "Dream Ship" type thread... to bad it is now lost. Prime
The only good Trek movies are the ones with Khan or whales in them (the latter for different reasons). "Khhhhaaaannnnnnn!"
The Doctor
^ The Wrath of Khan was the definitive Star Trek movie. It is without a doubt the best. The one with the whales was "The Voyage Home". It was alright, but not one of my favourites.
Vladimir-Vlada
The one with the whales was "The Voyage Home". It was alright, but not one of my favourites. I acctuely like films and series where people from the more civilised future come to the present and make fun, gawk and mock everyone.
The Doctor
^ Don't get me wrong, that was funny. I just don't like it as much as Wrasth of Khan or First Contact.
TheGreenGoblin
^^ I like when Scotty and McCoy are talking to that aluminum manufacturing guy and McCoy warns Scotty that by giving him the equation for the transparent aluminum they could be changing history and Scotty replies, "How do we know he didn't invent the thing?" The Undiscovered Country was pretty good too, a nice send off for the TOS crew.
