StaffSaberist
I don't get TSL. I really don't. I mean, you find the Jedi Masters, and they applaud you for being in touch with the Force again, and they teach you a new Form, and they say it's good to see you reestablished your connection... BUT... Get them all together, and they suddenly decide you are bad news and try to break your Force connection. I really don't understand what made them change their minds. RobQel-Droma
Well, maybe when they got together and went over what you had done, and what was happening in the galaxy they realized what you were doing, even if it was inadvertantly. So, they decided to cut you off the from the force.
Alkonium
My answer: those Jedi Masters aren't Masters of the Force, they're Masters of Hipocrisy!
Ztalker
Well....that's one of the reasons people wanted Bioware to make it, don't they? Bioware did make a good game, with all the new stuff, but completely f*cked the story by letting stuff out and using some plot holes you just discribed. Darth333
Ztalker : Bioware didn't make Kotor 2. That was Obsidian. But even with the stuff that has been left out, that whole "wound in the force" thing is a bit too esoteric for me...
The_Maker
^^^ Agreed, that and the fact that the game keeps referring to "echoes" in the force 3 times on each planet gets really...really... bland.
Cygnus Q'ol
Bioware did a much better job letting you live a story. Graphically, I enjoyed their work much better than Obsidian. Yes, some of their upgrades were nice. ...being able to equip/unequip weapons with out going to menu page. ...being able to equip/unequip team members on the 'Hawk' (although I wish I could level up everyone while on the 'Hawk'). ...love some of the new feats and powers. But as you have noticed, the story (or lack of) kind of overshadows the good things that they did. I hope k3, if made, will incorperate the best of the previous two. (and perhaps a few pleasant surprises).
StaffSaberist
Personally, I thought TSL had a darker, more dramatic theme, putting Episode III to shame. I mean, it was easy to excel in the Force and saber skills in KotOR, then TSL makes playing even the light side a struggle. It seems so difficult, whether it is or not. Perhaps I just have enough natural-born empathy to mentally play the part of the exile. Now that's a scary thought. You know, I would probably play KotOR a lot more if there was a mod that makes the Jedi Robes in KotOR like TSL's and the animations of TSL added in, and the Forms were added, and random loot, etc. I don't get a part of TSL: Where the exile stands trial and gets exiled, Vrook talks like an answering machine! Do-you-know-why-we-have-called-you-here? Anyway, if anyone has a vocabulator, I'd like to see a voiced cutscene of the Masters deciding that you can't have the Force modded in. It seems odd that Obsidian would miss even that. When I started this thread, I expected I'd get blasted for clicking through long cutscenes. Actually, why should they depend on us to do that? They have the actors, the programmers, etc., and this should not be missed. Agreed, that and the fact that the game keeps referring to "echoes" in the force 3 times on each planet gets really...really... bland. It's still fresh to me. I'm not annoyed by it yet. But this plot hole is what ruins my fun right now. That and the fact that the programmers obviously didn't use Spelling and Grammar check on the subtitles. Call me the grammar police if you will, but I was a little miffed that when Atton said, "...blow us out of the sky", the subtitles said, "...blow us out if the sky". I know that isn't much, but you'd think they would at least look at their stuff a second time! As an aspiring programmer, I know you got to check every line at least twice. Ditto for a lot of other stuff. Woodshop, mapping... there were other things I noticed, as well. =/ I suppose I notice the spelling, grammar, and such because such errors are all too common in player-created mods, for any game. You'd expect the developers to do better! But I didn't intend to make this a complaint thread. I was wondering what I was missing in the plot. Too bad I wasn't the one missing something. Yeah, I totally didn't get that, I really wasn't expecting it and just thought "WTF?". They didn't really attempt to justify their actions. Plus what exactly were they going to do to stop Nihilus and Sion?
StaffSaberist
I know. I'd like modders to make a cutscene - even just a soundless one with subtitles, if need be - that shows a debate between the Masters, about what to do next, then deciding that you need to go. Cygnus Q'ol
Yeah, I totally didn't get that, I really wasn't expecting it and just thought "WTF?". They didn't really attempt to justify their actions. Plus what exactly were they going to do to stop Nihilus and Sion? They probably believe that you, (exile) are the biggest threat to the order and the galaxy. ...and if I'm not mistaken, didn't Vrook mention something about not being able to sense the rising sith threat once you explained that you'd encountered them? I wonder why not.
