Banjo4321 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Here are some screenshots (in the images Gametap is running at 800 x 600, meaning the video is stretched more than it would be when running Gametap in 1024 x 768): http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/7153/fpgametap1dr1.jpg http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/1002/fpgametap2hq9.jpg http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/6186/fpgametap3jk9.jpg
Laserschwert Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Thanks. Qualitywise they are equally "meh". While the VHS tapes suffer from the usual analogue softness and interferences, the streams show compression artifacts and lower resolution. So, still enough reasons for a DVD-release. By the way, is there any way to capture those streams, meaning saving them to hard disk? Not condoning piracy, but wondering if GameTap is actually worth a subscription, if I lived in the US...
Banjo4321 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Anything that you can see on your monitor can be captured. Though depending on the program you use, this is not necessarily a cheap or easy option. I wouldn't really recommend it. It's not only illegal, but the quality could end up being worse.
SyntheticGerbil Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 2 LEGIT! 2 LEGIT 2 QUIT! 2 LEGIT! 2 LEGIT 2 QUIT! 2 LEGIT! 2 LEGIT 2 QUIT! 2 LEGIT! 2 LEGIT 2 QUIT! 2 LEGIT! 2 LEGIT 2 QUIT! 2 LEGIT! 2 LEGIT 2 QUIT! Anyways, streaming video sucks. Most Sam and Max fans have already seen these episodes and we want our 720x480pixel resolution on a good old god damn DVD already. I hate when Youtube has mpegs and avis of bad ass unreleased stuff, yet it's no where to be found on the torrents. What gives?
Banjo4321 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I know I already posted this on a bunch of other boards, but it can't hurt to post it again. You can now get Gametap for $4.95/month. Just sign up for a one-year membership (one-time billing of $59.40) by October 22. http://www.gametap.com/home/bday/bday_landing.jsp http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/3842/limitedtimeoffergametapfx2.jpg

Yeah, I'm familiar with stuff like CamTasia and the likes... yet there are enough stream-recording tools out there to do a better and more sophisticated job on this.
