That’s right as the sign says we have a dev chat scheduled for this Monday January 23rd!

 

The dev chat will be hosted right here at the EAW forums and open to registered members. The chat will be from 4pm – 5:30pm (pacific) with designers Chris Rubyor and Joe Bostic, Programmer Mike Legg (tentative) and more!

 

Get some questions ready, additional details coming soon!

So, 4.00pm is 11pm GMT right? As said, that Time Zone Converter doesn't help a lot, with 10 different "pacific time" zones.

 

I think we could post the meeting hours in Zulu time, like in army :)

There is space bombardment where you can call on fire from space.

Well the chats over but major highlights for me were:

 

- There is orbital bombardment.

- More explaination of space combat.

- The Death Star Dilema

 

So if your the empire and you build a death star and it is destroyed its game over :D But than again you dont have to build it. Intereasting...

They are talking about calling in bombing runs if you have bombers in space, not orbital bombardment. They poorly crafted their answer and it was a bit misleading.

Hopefully not... they seem to have a tendency to word answers in a difficult to understand fashion :^: Maybe if torpid or delphi see this they can clear it up.

 

There isn't any orbital bombardment in the way you mean (i.e. turbolasers from capital ships) - it's strictly bombing runs. You're right, the answer was poorly worded (I have chastised the one responsible accordingly :smash: )

I actually managed to get in time without knowing my time frame, but i couldnt think of any questions. And some interesting info on their personal lifes there, plus the questions that they put in but did not answer reflect on what they are trying to ignore.

In your professional opinion, developers, is there any structure in the game that would allow modders to implement orbital bombardment?

 

For example, could we add a button via LUA, can we check for what units are in orbit... any way we can use the turbolaser towers shots in a vertical arrangement above the viewing plane to form the basis for the shots, etc, etc?
