Dark_Ansem Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 is there a way to make the lightning, shock and force storm effects in TSL look more like in the movies? the blue of the game is plain, and boring! Something similar was made for JAcademy, so it's not impossible... http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/0/05/300px-Sidslightning.jpg http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/a/a0/175px-Force_lightning.jpg http://homepage.mac.com/darth_sidious/img/emperor05.jpg
Darth InSidious Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 JA and TSL are different games. Sure it would be possible, but you'd have to figure out which of the texture files is for lightning. And none of the fx ones are exactly clearly labelled...
Darth InSidious Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 In theory, yes. But it'd be a fiddly job.
The_Maker Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 I am not sure I understand, you want the lightning effect to be more srpead out? Or do you want it more purple like in the screenshots?
Dark_Ansem Posted January 26, 2006 Author Posted January 26, 2006 yeah a bit more purple, just like in the movies, need more screen (gives a hopeful look)?

If you could do in KOTOR (and TSL) what you can do in JA, a lot of modders dreams of what they would like to do would come true.
Dark_Ansem Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 but it's then ompossible to have the lightnings?
The_Maker Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I suppose I could try a recolor to make it more purplish but for it streaming out more, I dunno. We'll see...
Dark_Ansem Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 excellent The_Maker! I was looking very firward to something like that!
The_Maker Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Well, I have finished the mod but PCGM won't let me upload the zip =/ If you PM me your email adress I will send it over that way... /me curses the bad coding at pcgm
Kainzorus Prime Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 pcgm was screwed for few days, but it seems uploader works again.
The_Maker Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Well, not for me It keeps saying some weird stuff about errors on line 28 and my zip is 0 kb in size o_O
Kainzorus Prime Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 What have you included btw? spells.2da edit or just edited texture, or both?
The_Maker Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Just a texture edit, a readme, and some screenshots =/ I wish I knew why it won't let me upload anything
Dark_Ansem Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 wow already done it? man you were fast!! thank
ChAiNz.2da Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Just a texture edit, a readme, and some screenshots =/ I wish I knew why it won't let me upload anything Are you using any 'special' characters in your filename? Quotations, apostrophes, astericks, etc. will always give you an error.. use only dashes or underscores if you need a seperator (spaces sometimes causes problems). Also, limit your characters just to be safe.. keep it under 16 if you can. Though not a 'proven' problem.. it couldn't hurt
The_Maker Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 yarg. I tired it again and shortened the name of the zip but still no go... when it gives me the description part of the upload right above where the selection box for which game, I get this text " Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: stat failed for temp/Lightning.zip in /home/web/pcgm3/upload.php on line 225" No clue what it means and it still says the zip size is 0 kbs Oh well... email time.

Dark_Ansem Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 the mod is great, however the lighting should have only the inner core purple, the outer should be blue, with a blue glow
Kainzorus Prime Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 One of my associates informed me that pcgm is under harddrive change, but not much beyond that we just know its not random error.
Dark_Ansem Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 is it possible to give the lightning a purple core and a blue glow?
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 is it possible to give the lightning a purple core and a blue glow? Yes, the only thing that can't be done is edit the effect itself (i.e increasing randomocity, making it fan out, etc, etc).
