CountVerilucus Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Looks pretty cool. But is it any good?
stingerhs Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 despite my very minor dissappointment with the game (check the E@W forums for more info there), it was well worth my money. i really have a funny feeling that i'm going to be addicted to this game for at least a month. meh, i'll probably be playing this game on an off and on basis for the next 5-6 months after that. hope that helps.
Lynk Former Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 You should do what you feel is right of course...
Astrotoy7 Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 indeed. download the demo... its a high price to play if you dont like it... its also helps if you're an RTS fan mtfbwya

Commander Obi-Wan Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Im a big time strategy game fan in general. Especially Rome Total War Then, I'd suggest getting it. Though, have you downloaded the demo yet?
Jeff Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Though I don't have the game yet, I wouldn't say the demo will give an accurate representation of the full game because they made the demo so easy.
stingerhs Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Though I don't have the game yet, I wouldn't say the demo will give an accurate representation of the full game because they made the demo so easy.quoted for emphasis. the game has quite a bit of depth to it that you don't see in the demo. still, the demo is a good way to get a feel for how the game will run on your system.
dede_frost Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Well, if ur a fan of Rome Total War I wouldn't recomend this game... I mean, it has a great strategy depth in the sense that you need to choose you movements carefully, and I really like the way that ion cannons, bombing runs and many other special abilities are incorporated. But this game lacks the essentials of Rome Total War (stuff like flanking, etc), instead, it apeals more to the more generic type of user, more like AoE3 (clickfest). The thing I like is that you need A LOT of micro in this game, since you get a significant (like 5 time) boost when using counters. Also, if u like Rome Total War, u probably won't like the resource-collecting, since its fairly simple and dosen't have much depth to it (basically, u conquer plannets and make mines to get resources), since this game focusses mainly on action. You will get about a week of action-packed gaming that u probably wouldn't get from any other RTS, but then, if ur a hardcore RTS player, u probably will kinda burry this game and only play it ocasionnaly. I kinda liked this game (dispite my comments above), but I like action-packed RTS's with lots of micro (I'm an AoE3 fan ). Well, hope I helped, ur call now.
CountVerilucus Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 I see, im thinking about downloading the demo. But my computer is not functioning properly right now because i was doing some stuff on limewire...but anyways yeah. If it's a clickfest like AoE3 then, im not going to get it. Though age of empires 1 was the game that introduced me to strategy games.
