Artistic Critique and Suggestions Please.

From an artistic standpoint, it's very interesting. Assuming it's all intentional, I like how the texture outlines the face while keeping up with the transparency. It’s kind of appealing to the eye: intriguing to look at. :)

From a game standpoint, it's still interesting, but how would it really fit? I don't know of any creatures that have similar anatomy. Are you planning on integrating this into the game, adding more to the whole thing, or just evolving what you already have?

Well, I'm studying Design, so I guess I can comment on the artistics of it:

You need to ask yourself, what is it? What is its purpose?

IMO, other than looking different than what we are used to see, it has no purpose...

However, if you wanna know, I think those lines on the face would make some great Sith tatoos :)

Yeah, it is the hologram. (RH remembers all:lol: )

@Alkonium, I orginally wanted to use CM_Bright to give it more of a projected look, but I couldn't get it to work and I think the transparent parts would glow instead of the plates. Unless someone knows how to use both Bright and the standard tranparency?

"A floating spectral head with visible tatoos?"

An all singing, all dancing floating spectral head with visible tatoos. ;)

@Skye, Thanks, I was basing the artistic (and game-functionality) on Cortana, but her face was mostly just a mist of data with no structure, so I gave the hologram the "tatoos" to make her look more solid and differentiate between the two. I wanted to make animated textures like C between the tatoos, but I didn't leave to much room between them, so I'm not sure wether I'm going to add details, animated databits, or both. If I use detailing, it would probably be some kind of circuit/nerve looking system, if I go with animated databits it will probably be sith symbols (any preferences, anyone?)

I do want to integrate it into my ship eventually. The fit should be easier because she won't be a playable character (most of the time;)). Through her dialog you can control many of the ship's systems. Mostly she'll just stand around and look good (IMO:lol: ) and keep the thing flying. I'm going to make a body as well, but most of the detail will be facial since you'll use her dialog as much as an NPC and workbench combined.

@Raven, Actually they are supposed to be sith tatoos.
