"It's not my fault! She broke off whenever we came under attack by a couple of Scout Troopers," Ryshana responded to Nic.

Thinking for a second, Ryshana then made up her mind. "Go on and get out of here. I'll take that speeder and go find her."

Before Nic could say no, Ryshana quickly headed to the infirmary and wrapped her cut hand with some gauze. Then heading back outside, Ryshana started up the speeder and took off. Activating a homing tracker on the speeder, she tuned it into the comlink frequency that Jana had been using. She was pretty close.

Quickly triangulating the signal, the speeder then gave her a direction bearing. Hitting the accelerator, the speeder moved very quickly towards the bearing. She was rapidly getting closer, and finally, Ryshana arrived at some sort of a pedestrian walkway. Parking the speeder, Ryshana started looking around for it. Combined with the Force, Ryshana was quickly able to locate the comlink only to discover that it was jut the comlink, and Jana wasn't attached to it.

Activating her own comlink Ryshana connected to the Echo. "Nic, this is Ryshana. I found the comlink, but Jana isn't anywhere to be found. It's a bit crowded here on the walkway, but if she's here, I'll find her. Go ahead and leave. We can handle ourselves."

Beryl did as Nic had asked and contacted her brother Rayne on her com link. Rayne’s hanger wasn’t that far away from where they were on Corellia, but neither was it that close. So far, the conversation wasn’t going very well.

“Beryl, I warned you something like this would happen,” Rayne’s voice chastised her from the other end of the com link.

“Look, all I’m asking for is some kind of a distraction,” Beryl pleaded into the handset, “to buy us some time to escape.”

“What, like a decoy?” Rayne asked incredulously. “No. I’m not willing to sacrifice other people’s lives simply for your captain’s greed and lack of good judgement.”

Beryl gave Nic an apologetic look. “Please, Rayne,” she said into the com. “Jana’s missing.”

There was a moment of silence. “Then I suggest you leave her behind.” Rayne said rather callously.

“What?! We can’t just leave her to get caught by…Vader,” Beryl said, nearly choking on the name. “Please, Rayne. There must be something you can do. Do a bit of lateral thinking.”

There was another moment of silence, then the com panel began to flash. “I’m sending you some new ident codes,” said Rayne. “Maybe that will confuse them for a bit. In the meantime, I’ll reroute some few heavy transports to cause a bit of a traffic jam on the approach corridors near your location. That should delay any shuttles coming from the Star Destroyer long enough for you to…wait a minute. How large is your ship again? Would it fit inside a heavy starfreighter modified for cargo only?”

Beryl looked at Nic as she mentally compared the Echo’s specs to the heavy starfreighter’s interior hold size and cargo door dimension. “Just,” she said. “Getting it through the doors might be tight. Not much room for error. But I think our pilot could handle it.”

“Then how about we smuggle out your entire ship?” Rayne suggested. “I’ve got an empty starfreighter that’s been waiting for cargo. I’ll send it to your co-ordinates. You just get your ship loaded inside, and I’ll do the rest. If the Imps are looking for you, they certainly won’t be looking for you inside of another ship.”

Beryl looked at Nic. “What do you think?” she asked him. “Should we give it a go? Even if we just hid in the freighter for a little while, it would give you and Ryshana time to find Jana.”

Less than a minute after her little adventure, Jana found herself in a cantina. Using a skill set she'd learned while trying to find odd jobs on Coruscant before she met Nic, she relieved a furry alien of his comlink. After a couple of seconds, she had it working and called Nic.

"Hey, Cap," she said cheerfully. "How's the Echo? Still safe from Vader, I assume, as I'm talking to you." Without even pausing to let him answer, she went on. "Don't worry about me, Nic. I lost my comlink, but I'm hidden in this nifty little place... Frosted Crab Cantina, I think they call it." She chuckled. "I used to come here as a kid to hear the... but never mind. Just get the ship to safety. I'll find my way out of here and..."

Jana gasped suddenly, startled to see Ryshana peering in through the doorway. Into the comlink, she said. "Get the Echo to safety. Shana and I will be fine... we'll find our own way offworld and meet up with you somewhere."

Casually, she discarded the comlink and approached Ryshana. She smiled, but the smile did not reach her eyes and it certainly didn't sound in her voice as she demanded quietly, "What the hell are you doing here?"

((I'm counting on Beryl knowing where the Frosted Crab is and I'm counting on Nic demanding they go pick Jana and Ryshana up. If it happens that way, Nic will be scolded... but that'll be fun, now won't it? :p ))

(Sorry for my inactivity. It's because of homework and I didn't know anything about the whole situation. Sorry)

Oliver was sitting, with his third bottle, and staring at the window. The night was terrible - he ended being joked by a girl, who he thought he could get "someting" from. But she only wanted his money - which he didn't have. Therefore he took his head to his big scar, that "the big fellow with the nice suit" nicely gave him. He took another bottle from his package, and began to drink it. Oliver began to feel the nice alcohol all over his body. Now he was alive again. He heard some noises, but he didn't react. "I check it, after the next drink" he said for about half an hour.

Feeling around, it wasn't long before Ryshana picked up Jana from the crowd. Following the feeling, Ryshana noticed that she was heading straight for a cantina. Great, another one of those, Ryshana thought with a bit of sarcasm.

Peering inside indiscriminately, Ryshana turned the corner and headed inside. As soon as she entered, Ryshana noticed that Jana was heading straight towards her, and she was definately unhappy.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Jana asked quietly.

"Coming to see an old friend. Why else would I be here?" Ryshana stated as she discreetly nodded her head towards a couple of Imperial Stormtroopers that were just outside. "If I remember correctly, I owe you a drink. So, let's go sit down somewhere and catch up on old times."

Undressing as she went, Beryl hurried to her room while Nic went out to where the speeder was parked. Quickly discarding her 'nice' clothes, she changed with the speed of a firefighter into her 'normal' clothes--trousers, tank top and boots. There was no way she was showing up at the 'Frosted Crab' in anything remotely suggesting that she might have a few credits to her name.

She was just tugging down her shirt and stamping the second boot onto her foot when she reached the speeder. "I'll drive," she said to Nic as she hopped into the driver's seat. "I know exactly where the 'Crab' is." And," she added as she started up the speeder, "I know a short cut." She grinned and wiggled her eyebrows. "Hang on tight!" she warned, and the speeder shot out of the landing bay, heading for the cantina and Jana.

Nic st in the passenger seat as Beryly flew the speeder at nearly dangerous speeds, he took out his comlink. "Ryshana or Jana we are heading towards you guys, sit tight we should be there soon." Nic watches ass beryl narrowly missies an oncoming transport. "providing we don't crash first."

"Crash? I've never crashed a speeder," Beryl said to Nic as she made a sharp turn to the left and then skimmed through a narrow alleyway. She grinned. "Well," she reconsidered, "never by accident anyway. When I was at my last year at the TCTA, there was this guy..."

She raced out of the alley, avoiding the cross-traffic with uncanny timing, then headed down another alley just to the right. "...Dag Velara. He was the captain of the Airoball team, wore designer everything, and couldn't walk past a mirror without checking his own reflection." The alley was blocked at the halfway point by a stack of plasteel cargo containers, but Beryl didn't slow down, on the contrary, she sped up.

"You know the type, yeah?" she said as she fired the repulsors. Combined with the speed she was travelling at, she easily jumped the blockage.

"A real skrag," she continued, seemingly unconcerned about the busy intersection looming up ahead. "Everyone hated him, 'cause he thought he and his speeder were the hottest things on the strip at nights." Again, she pulled up hard, shooting the speeder at a nearly vertical incline, then dove off to the left to smoothly join up with the main flow of traffic on the other side. "So, me and some of my friends decided to put a dent in his plans..."

Again a sharp rise, then a near zero-G drop into the next lane of traffic. "...and a dent in his speeder. 'Course, I wrecked mine in the process, but it was worth the look on his face when he realised his 'baby' was totalled and he wouldn't be racing for a while."

Beryl brought the speeder to a coasting stop on the side of the street. "Well, there it is," she said to Nic, as she fixed her gaze across and up the street a way. "The Frosted Crab. I'd've parked a bit closer, but..." She nodded discretely to a couple of Imperial Stormtroopers lingering outside the entrance. "So, what now? Do we go in?"

Beryl powered down the speeder and hopped out. "Alright," she said. "I think there is some sort of a loading door in the back alley. At least, there was the last time I was here and had to...erm, nevermind. Follow me."

She led Nic across the street, then down the narrow alley that ran between the buildings. The light faded as they negotiated the twists and turns until they could see door up ahead, lit from overhead by a dim flickering light.

"There you go. One back door." She pointed up to a spot on the wall near where the light was attached. "And one security camera." She looked around on the ground, then picked up a small rock she had spotted. Weighing it in her hand for a moment, she took aim and threw it. It hit the lens of the camera, shattering it. "Correction. One broken security camera."

She grinned at Nic. "C'mon. Let's go get Jana and Ryshana and get out of here."

As Jana took a seat, she murmured, "Now, if Nic shows up, I'm going to throw a fit..." Then, she smiled at Ryshana and asked, "So I haven't seen you in a while... how've you been?" She figured that they'd stay here, chatting like old friends for as long as they could. Then, they'd get out and find a way to get off planet.

"ok, but lets try and keep a low profile this time." He said standing up and walking over to the back door.

Beryl grinned. "I'll try my best," she said to Nic, following him through the back door and into the Frosted Crab.

Just inside the back door, Beryl spotted a closet, its door slightly ajar. She opened it up. "Hey!" she said, as she pulled out a waitress uniform. She eyed Nic over. "Hmm...no. I don't think you've got the legs to be a waitress. I'll wear it." She reached inside the closet and threw him a work shirt, obviously worn by the kitchen staff. "You look more like a dishwasher to me," she joked. "Can't get much lower in profile than that."

((sorry. i've been tangled up with my new job. training officially sucks, especially whenever you're apart of a store opening. at least the 13+ hours a day is going to be nice. i got hired as a manager, but they're paying me hourly plus overtime. my next paycheck is going to be freaking sweet. :D

and if you're wondering, coffee has continued to be my best friend throughout my little crisis of having to wake up at 0600 every morning. :p))

"Not too bad. Been a bit busy recently. I just got myself a new local job at a casino here. Its just fantastic," Ryshana replied to Jana. "And I bet you wouldn't guess what my job is..."

Nic ripped the Dashwashers uniform out of Beryls hand. "I'm not happy." He took off the outer layer of his clothing and replaced it with the dishwashers uniform.

"I'll check out the internal security you go and serve."

Beryl, just having tied the apron strings around her waist, saluted Nic. "Right, chief," she said, grinning as she saw him uncomfortably and unhappily wearing the dishwasher garb. She grabbed a tray and headed for the door to the main part of the cantina, but she paused before opening it. "Erm...want anything from the bar?" she asked him. "Drinks will be on the house tonight." She winked. "Well, at least when I'm on shift, they will be."

Nic gave her a dubious look, which Beryl ignored, and she went through the doors and into the main area of the Frosted Crab Cantina.

The place was packed with the usual suspects. There were a couple of card games going, some obviously underhanded and illegal deals being made, and a whole lot of flirting, jeering, and drinking going on elsewhere.

She quite happily took orders as she meandered through the place, no one taking any notice of the 'new' waitress, until finally she spotted Jana and Ryshana sitting at a table chatting. As casually as she could, she made her way over to them.

"Ahem," she cleared her throat as she stood by the side of their table. She grinned and wiggled her eyebrows. "Can I get you two ladies something from the bar?"

Jana stared at Beryl for just a moment before putting on a sheepish smile. "Uh, yes, waitress," she said sweetly. "I, uh... I have a sort of odd request and I'd like it if you'd lean down so's I can whisper it to you."

Once Beryl had complied, Jana growled, "If you tell me Nic White's somewhere in this general area, I'm going to smack him so hard he'll end up in three years from yesterday!"

Again, she smiled sheepishly. "What say you?" she asked aloud. "Can it be done?"

Nic walked into the kitchen of the Cantina to see if he could find an easier way out than the one they used to get in. He only took a few steps wen one of the chefs stood infront of him.

"Who are you." He asked looking straight at Nic.

"I'm the new guy." He replied

"No you're not, we ain't had anyone new for months." He said turning to another chef "Call security."

Without hesitation Nic grabbed one the pots and smacked the chef around the head and quickly took his knife from his boot. He flipped it so he held the tip then threw it at the second chef, peicing his hand before he could to the alarm switch. The man screamed out loud before Nic ran over to him and used the pot to knock him out cold. Nic looked at the two chef and smiled.

"Crisis adverted." he said as he placed the knife back in his boot then leaned back against the wall. An alarm suddenly sounded and Nic's eyes widened as he turned to see he had just leaned on the alarm button by mistake. "I have got to start thinking things through."

With a sigh of annoyance, Jana stood. "Act panicked," she hissed to Ryshana and Beryl. "Thank the Force our nearest exit is through the kitchen."

Wide eyed and screaming, she ran toward the kitchen door, bursting through it and coming face to face with Nic White. Her screaming continued as she glanced around the kitchen. When she was sure they were alone, the screaming stopped.

"You have got to start thinking things through," she snapped at him, giving him a glare and a slap across the forehead. "If we didn't need to get out of here, I'd do a lot more, White. Consider yourself lucky... for now."

Turning to Beryl, she said. "Alright, since he's an idiot and you're the one that came with him, you know how you got in. Therefore, you know how we're getting out."

Back to Nic, she sighed and shook her head. "I know you're the captain an' all," she told him reproachfully, "but next time can't you trust me a little more? I know what I can get out of, alright?"

"Alright, since he's an idiot and you're the one that came with him, you know how you got in. Therefore, you know how we're getting out."

Beryl gave Jana a look of surprise. “Me?!” She glanced at Ryshana, then sighed. “Well…,” she said thoughtfully, “the best place to hide is in plain sight. And since the alarm is already clamouring, and the speeder is parked just across the street, I suggest we get out just like everyone else would.” She grabbed a damp towel and tossed it on one of the burners on the stove. It quickly began to smoulder and plumes of thick grey smoke began to fill the kitchen. “Through the front door.” She pushed open the door of the kitchen and the smoke billowed out with her. “FIRE!” she yelled into the main area of the cantina, making sure to add a dramatic cough. “FIRE! EVERYBODY OUT!” And, being as she was dressed like a waitress and acted like she knew what she was doing, people began to stampede to the front door.

She gave a backwards look towards the kitchen door where Jana, Nic, and Ryshana were. “C’mon! Get moving!”

Once more acting terrified, Jana followed her 'old friend' and the 'waitress' and tugged the 'dishwasher' into action to flee the scene.

"Let's get out of this damn crowd," she instructed Beryl. "You came in a speeder, I assume. Zig an' zag, but take us to it."

Beryl zigged and zagged through the panicked crowd exiting out of the Frosted Crab cantina, occasionally looking over her shoulder to see if the others were following. The Stormtroopers, once on patrol duty, were now doing crowd control, and Beryl passed by two or three without them even taking a second look.

Finally reaching the speeder, Beryl hopped in, started the engine and waited for the rest to join her. "C'mon, slow pokes!" she jeered at Jana, Nic, and Ryshana, as she impatiently tapped her fingers on the steering column.
