Snake? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?!

I have lost the desire to wear pants.

I'm soo excited that they're keeping standard gameplay. This means that SSB3 WILL NOT SUCK! woo! And I totally called this. Hi Lynky! :D

Hooray for GC shells!

This basically seals Wii for me. Wii's mine.

GAH! *beats up people in ssbm*

Know what else this means? Tournament play will still be enabled! (I mean pro tournament play) and hopefully they keep wavedashing in the game, otherwise it will change so much of the pro venue and throw the game off balance..

Oh well! It doesn't matter! I'll still play pro smash w/o wavedashing! But now with Pit and Snake as my new characters! :D

I'm just waiting for them to announce that Blastoise will be owning people in SSB3.

*dances around with Mike* This is so damn cool :D Sakurai says that there's a definate possibility of other third party characters... can you say "Sonic"? :D

Speaking at a special Nintendo developer event, Miyamoto has just unveiled Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii. Newcomers include: Pit (Kid Icarus), Zero Suit Samus, Wario, and ... Snake!

During E3 Last year, Miyamoto approached Masahiro Sakurai, the series creator and now independent developer, insisting that he make a new Smash Bros. To make it happen, Nintendo put together a team to assist Sakurai. The result is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, one of the first Wii titles to avoid motion-controlled attacks.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be fully compatible with the GameCube controller. Sakurai's reasoning is simple. He doesn't want to alienate gamers that prefer the traditional gamepad.

The game will feature online multiplayer. Singel-player mode will see some changes, but Sakurai has declined to elaborate. Miyamoto did say (via translator) that we can expect "a very robust" single-player mode.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl will not be a launch title. Sakurai has confirmed a 2007 release.

Wario will have a special fart attack.

Kojima begged Sakurai to include Snake in the GameCube version of Smash Bros., but it was too late in the development cycle to add the character. When Brawl became a reality, Sakurai contacted Kojima and the decision was made to introduce Snake into the series. Solid Snake will use explosives ... and a cardboard box.

Snake is the only thrid party character confirmed for Brawl. Sakurai has confirmed that other third party characters are a definite possible. There was talk of Sonic...

Also, IGN: http://revolution.ign.com/articles/707/707504p1.html

Nintendo just pulled a fast one on us. At an after-hours press briefing a mere minute ago, the company pulled another ace out of its sleeve: Super Smash Bros. Brawl -- the next installment in Nintendo's popular Super Smash Bros. series.

Shigeru Miyamoto himself has confirmed the following playable characters:

# Pit (Kid Icarus)

# Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid)

# Zero Suit Samus (the blue "no-suit" Samus from Metroid: Zero Mission)

# Meta-Knight (Kirby)

# Wario (Wario)

Under the direction of series creator Masahiro Sakurai, Super Smash Bros. Brawl will feature classic, GameCube-style combat -- not Wii-style motion-controlled combat. That means players who prefer to play the game with the traditional control setup can do so using the GameCube controller they're already accustomed to while the new motion control adds a new dimension previously not available in fighting games.

The game also features a range of new nasty toys, such as the ability to unleash a puppy from Nintendogs that will run up to the screen, put its paws up and obscure the view of the action. Mario, Kirby, Pikachu and Link have been confirmed as returning characters.

Even better, the game will be fully online playable in addition to featuring a robust multiplayer mode.

The bad news is that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will no longer be a Wii launch title, but will instead be released in 2007.

Not just Sonic, now that the door is open I want Capcom to come into this...

Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, Viewtiful Joe, Killer7... one or two characters from StreetFighter...

JEEBUS! Imagine if Namco got involved... GASP! WHAT IF SEGA PUT NIGHTS IN THERE!

That's against the rules you realise, you better change it. (I'm not kidding either.)

6. Avoid duplicating anybody's nickname, avatar, and/or sig images. Make or find your own. This also applies to people outside our community (ie names of people of another community). It is strictly prohibited to impersonate someone else.

I have a bigger and better version of my av over at my forums.

EDIT: http://e3.bashsoftware.net/smash.wmv DVD quality trailer.

Metal Gear started on the NES, but more importantly Hideo Kojima wanted Snake to be in Smash Bros Melee but by that time it was already too far into production, so when Brawl was being made he got a second chance.

And yes, apparantly he does have a box move in the game :D

I wonder if they'll get David Hayter to do his english voice roles, or do what they did to Marth and Roy in Melee and leave it all the dialogue in Japanese.

and did anyone think kirby looked a bit sad when they were all morphing in the beginning and he didn't change at all? He looked kinda surprised there. poor thing...

:D Yeah I loved the fact that Kirby stayed exactly the same. He was like "Hey I got jibbed!" But then again, how could you really change Kirby?

EDIT: I've just dloaded the 60fps version of the trailer and i've noticed 2 things.

1. Samus's laser sword acts like a whip.

2. Snake is looking right at Link when he appears and says "It's show time!"

XD

Though i did always like the fact that she was about the only female character in gaming that wasn't all about boob and bum physics... ;)

I'm definately hanging onto one of my GCN controllers incase i like it better for some games.

It's an item that releases a dog from nintendogs that purposefully covers up the screen so that it's harder to fight.

And that jumpsuit looks very uncomfortable. :p
