The Chronicles of Riddick

So....who likes it? Who doesn't? Why or why not? And, most importantly, has anyone heard if there are going to be any more movies from the Chronicles series???

Personally, I loved Pitch Black, Chronicles, and both novelizations (but I am a big lover of cheesy Sc-Fi's, oh, and Vin Diesel too :) )

I HOPE THEY MAKE A SEQUEL!!!! (or, uh, trilogy, I guess). But, they probably won't. Why am I doomed to love things that are doomed??? I want another KOTOR game, and it will probably never be made, I wanted Gambit to be in X3, and that just isn't happening, and I wanted another Riddick movie, but goddess knows that that probably will NOT happen either!!!

Grrr.

me?? well, i do like the Riddick character. Vin Diesel is one of about two or three people that have the type of persona to pull off the part, and in all honesty, i'm still convinced that Riddick is the best role he's put into any movie he's done. it isn't to say that he's a bad actor, its just that he hasn't had a lot of roles that were very demanding roles like Riddick.

as for the movies, Pitch Black was pretty darn good. it wasn't scary, but the acting and good writing made the movie. basic concept, but good execution, in my book. the Chronicles of Riddick, however, wasn't done nearly as well. too many plotholes and a plastic bad guy made the movie just a little too rough around the edges for me.

however, the video game was one of the best video games i've ever played. its a basic story, but its compelling since you have to work so hard at being the central point of the story, which is quite a bit different from most games. the voice acting for some of the characters was definately some of the best voice acting i've heard in a video game. hehe, and it gave me a good laugh that such fantastic graphics got into the market before Doom 3 and Half Life 2. :D

as for what's coming up, well, last i heard, there was another Riddick game in development by the same guys up at Starbreeze. if they do as good of a job on the next Riddick game as they did on the first one, its going to be incredible. in all honesty, i hope they out do themselves with it.

no word on a movie, though. Vin Diesel loves the character, so you know he'd be up to doing another Riddick movie. the question, though, lies in whether or not movie execs are going to go for a sequel to a movie that didn't do very well either in DVD sales nor in theatres.

personally, i'd like a prequel movie that deals with how Kira/Jack got herself into prison in the first place. as long as they keep that one actress and the guys who wrote Pitch Black, it'd be a pretty cool movie.

I feel that Pitch Black was the better of the movies but the other one was not too bad. I have to agree with stingerhs about the game, I thought it was very fun, but a little tough. That may be because the first time I played through it I didn't know about the ability to increase your health bar and some of the baddies at the end of the game would dominate me.

It is good to hear that there may be another game and I hope another movie comes along as well.

What's this about KotOR III never being made?

Well, you see, because I WANT a KOTOR III, there will never BE a KOTOR III. This is simply how these things work out. And yes, I am the center of the universe (well, MY universe, anyway) and therefore am the deciding factor in decisions like these. :D

Then you should decide that there will be a KOTOR III.

I liked Pitchblack, the whole thing was great... Chronicles was pretty fun, even though it was cheesy, and sorta reminded me of Conan the Barbarian in space somehow. hehe But then Ive always been a fan of cheesy scifi as well.
