Most Insane Celebrity Sweepstakes

Recommended Posts

Just in, is has been revealed that Mel Gibson, obviously jealous of Tom Cruise's scientologist nutballery, has edged ahead with his drunk-driving arrest in LA, during which he launched into an anti-semitic tirade that would have done his idol Eric Cartman proud. Upon being stopped by the patrolman (who thoughtfully posted the arrest report on http://www.tmz.com), his first question was "Are you a jew?" followed by such nuggets as "The jews are responsible for all the wars in the world!" and "What the f**k are you looking at, sugar tits?!" to a female police seargent. With a blood alcohol level so high they wouldn't have needed to embalm him if he dropped dead, he was promptly tossed in the can. His publicist has issued a slobbering apology to Jews worldwide, Jewish entertainment industry moguls who greenlight risky movie deals, and just to be safe, Moses personally.

Mel Gibson now slinks off to rehab with a comfortable lead over Tom Cruise, Axl Rose and Michael Jackson in the Most Insane Celebrity Sweepstakes! Go Mel!

Oh, and by the way, is PCGameMods still down? :D

I don’t know, personally I still have to go with Michael Jackson in this category. Michael had a tremendous lead on everyone, but I will say Mel and Tom are catching him down the back stretch as the head for home. I think Michael has done so many insane things over the years now it seems rather normal for him so he has to do something really insane to catch our full attention.

As for Mel he again apologized personally yesterday and took full responsibility for his actions. Is that enough? I really don’t know, but I do like the fact that his handlers aren’t having him blame everyone else for his actions.

Yes, PCgamemods is still down. And it most likely won't be coming back.
j/k. I just thought that not quite enough people have asked that lately...

he's blaming everything on the jews aye? And he's the guy that made The Passion? Quit a contradiction, imo...
Well, remember that a whole lot of people had The Passion pegged as being pretty anti-semitic when it came out. The whole "Jews killed Jesus" thing, while seeming to disregard the Romans (just an interpretation I heard). I dunno, I haven't seen it and I'm really not interested in seeing it, so I'll have to suspend my judgement on that one.

I heard that too. Even the cop that took him in (who actually was Jewish, and none too amused) was quoted as saying that it was the booze talking. I dunno...I've said a lot of stupid s**t when drunk, but I have yet to spew anti-Jewish invective. Booze doesn't put something in your head that isn't there, it just makes the stuff already in there more likely to come out, whether or not it's acceptable or positive. And that's where it's really bad news for the Melster: if there's one business you don't want to be pegged as an anti-semite, it the entertainment business. And he's got a movie supposedly coming out soon. Great timing, dude.

Not that i care about such things but.. People are lucky to have had mel make the film, i don't think peeps would have been too happy to see Jesus wielding twin berettas the way hollywood is these days.

That is very true. I heard on the news where he has already lost a project he was doing with ABC about the Holocaust. I believe ABC was correct on pulling the plug on that one so quickly. The movie “Apocalypto” which he wrote, produced and directed is in post production now and coming out later this year. It would be a little expensive for the studio to can.

Hmmm

Yeah, but ol' Melmeister made The Passion all on his own dime. A lot of the promotion was by he himself going around to Church groups and various Christian organizations, very grass-roots stuff. Even the most reactionary Church in the US will still at least keep the pretense of being non-biased front and center when confronted with stuff like this. Who's going to touch Apocalypto now, short of the First Aryan Nation Church of Southern Montana?

D'oh!

I think he was stupid drunk and decided to be mad at the cop and the world. If the cop had been a mauvey shade of pinky russet in color, I suspect he would have made some other comment related to the cop's mauvey color or whatever else Mel could find to tick off the cop.

I could see this scenario:

Mel: I'm ticked off that I'm getting stopped. I'm way over the limit, I am so hosed....This guy might send me to jail. I'm mad because he's going to send me to jail. Oh, this guy has a Jewish name. I'm mad at the world right now anyway, I may as well say something to try to tick this guy off. Bet some anti-Jewish comments will get him....

The Passion is hardly anti-Semitic. Jesus was Jewish, after all, and so were the disciples. However, the Sanhedrin had a part in Jesus' death sentence (along with Pilate and Herod, yes). I don't believe portraying the Sanhedrin's involvement makes the movie anti-Semitic any more than portraying the Romans driving the spikes makes it anti-Italian.

If Mel had been _sober_ while saying these kinds of things to the cop, this would be a very different discussion.

The guy screwed up big time while drunk. He also apologized. I can give anyone the benefit of the doubt, as long as he apologizes and he's trying to fix the problem.
