Oy! :roleyess: Liar, liar, pants on fire!!! :tsk:

To recap:

Michigan's next three opponents are Northwestern, Ball State, and Indiana

Ohio State's next three opponents are Minnesota, Illinois, and Northwestern

Considering the remaining schedule, both teams should be undefeated when they meet in The Game on Nov. 18. The only game that gives me pause is Michigan @ Indiana. But if both Michigan and Ohio State are indeed undefeated come Nov. 18 then lookout people! That game is going to get tons of national media coverage in addition to the typical monopolization of TV sets in Michigan and Ohio, heh-heh-heh.

I've already told all my friends and family that I will be unavailable on Nov. 18 from 12 to 5 PM Pacific. Don't call me, don't ask me to help move something, don't try to engage me in conversation, cuz I'm going to be jumping up and down in front of the TV! :D

Indiana beat #1 OHIO STATE!!!!

You are just sick and wrong for doing that! :fist:

I was in meetings all day and hadn't heard/seen the score yet! I had a little Jae heart attack in my hotel room til I logged onto the OSU site and saw the _real_ score. No Castle Anthrax for you!

USC lost to Oregon State!!! :animelol: [Nelson]HA ha[/Nelson]

I found that utterly hilarious as I didn't think USC would lose until they played Cal or Notre Dame.

Arizona State beat Washington in OT at Washington. That surprised me but maybe it's a sign that ASU's coach Koetter is getting his football team back on track. I certainly hope so.

Michigan and Ohio State are that much closer to having undefeated records going into their annual season-ending clash. Two more games to go. I think it's a given for Ohio State to win its next two games. Michigan's next game against Ball State should be a gimme and the Wolverines should win at Indiana as well, though I'm not inclined to say that particular game is a gimme. ;)

Ohio State's got that certain quality--a combination of fabulous playing, hunger for each and every win, great coaching, and absolute confidence that they _will_ win. I don't know if Michigan has that same level of desire. They have a lot of desire, don't get me wrong, but OSU's got them beat, and they're playing at the Horseshoe this year. :D

Desire?! Desire you say, Jae Onasi?! Wasn't that the title of a U2 song? :p

If you think Michigan lacks the desire to beat Ohio State after losing The Game the past two years then I think I need to talk to the H.A. psychiatric staff assigned to your special case and advise them of these strange hallucinations you're experiencing. :xp:

Man, that last game sucked. I get saving some energy for that stuff up north, but gimme a break, it's Illinios.

Out of the entire weekend the one play I remember is Laurinitis with a free shot at the QB and just whiffing! *breaks random puppies*

Hey, at least he got an interception. :)

OHIO ST vs. MICHIGAN

Huge battle Saurday afternoon.

Somebody get Jimbo some oxygen.

The Buckeyes are favored by 6 and 1/2 points, but that's cuz there at home.

I forsee a hard hitting, well coached chessmatch.

And may Smith and Laurinaitis and the rest of the Buckeyes totally dominate all game long and whip those bad boys from 'that school up North' (Jae spits the epithet).

Of course, we might have snow this weekend, Cygnus, but that never stops a good Wisconsinite from ever grilling, does it? We still haven't put our grill away for the season. :D

My grill never gets put away. By the time football season is done, it's almost spring. :)

...and NO, I'm not the guy with Chrismas lights still up in the summer.

(just wanted to clarify that)

I grill year-round.

...and if it's pouring rain, I'll just roll it into the garage to light it, then roll it back out and grill away with the top on.

Especially New Year's. Steaks and Seafood! YES!!!

Last year I made steaks, prawns, huge crab legs and lobster tails.

Lightsaber skills aren't the only thing I'm a master of. :bounce1:

It might be Michigan' date=' oops, I mean, that team from up there again if the BCS has their way.[/quote']

I agree. I hope they play again, but it always tougher the second time around. If Ohio State does not win out we are looking at another split National Championship. :toilet1:

Who deserves to play in the National Championship Game?

Ohio State – no brainier – Undefeated and untied with key wins over then :firemad: #2 Texas in Austin and then and still #2 Michigan at home.

And who to set them against:

1. Michigan – Only loss to #1 Ohio State in the Horseshoe by 3 points. Key wins include destroying then #2 Norte Dame 47-21 at Norte Dame, in a game that was not as close as the 26 point victory would indicate.

2. USC – One loss to unrated 7 and 4 Oregon State. Key wins include Arkansas, #19 Nebraska, #21 Oregon, and #17 California with a key game against #5 Norte Dame remaining.

3. Florida – One loss to then #11 Auburn with key wins against at #13 Tennessee, #9 LSU and still must play #6 Arkansas in the SEC championship game.

4. Norte Dame – One loss, at home, to #11 at the time Michigan 47-21. Key wins include #19 Penn State. Still must play #3 USC on 11/25 at USC.

5. Arkansas – One loss, at home, to #6 USC 50-14. Key wins include #2 Auburn, #13 Tennessee. Still must play #9 Auburn and #4 Florida in the SEC Championship Game.

Right now, I would say Michigan deserves another shot at Ohio State, on neutral ground, for the National Championship. Michigan’s only loss by 3 points to the #1 team in the country on their home field and should be behind no one other than Ohio State.

USC loss to a good, but not great Oregon State team drops them out of the hunt in personal opinion. Even with a win over hyped and overrated Norte Dame does not move them past Michigan in my opinion. Norte Dame or USC play each other so one will be eliminated with a second loss. If Norte Dame were to win, their destruction at the hands Michigan show not allow them to move a head of Michigan.

Florida and Arkansas must also play each other in the SEC Championship game. If either team wins out (IMO) would deserve a shot at the National Title over either USC or Norte Dame. I will regret saying this but the SEC (this year) is the best Conference top to bottom in College football. Arkansas lost to USC, but that was the first game of the season and Arkansas’ wins, to me, make up for that. At least they lost to a great team.

If Ohio State does not win the National Championship Game, I believe we’re looking at another split National Champion.

Texas blew it

Your words wound me to my very core, but they are true. However, even if Texas would have beaten Kansas State, Michigan would deserve another shot over Texas. I still haven't gotten over that loss to K State, but the resent memory of last year National Championship, after hearing about how great USC was for a month, makes it easier to take. Three peat I didn’t even see a two peat.

2006 Ohio State?

2005 Texas

2004 USC

2003 LSU - (not USC) USC was the AP National Champion.

2002 Ohio State

Well, everyone's been telling me that it's not fair for m******* to get another shot.

For one, I think they're better than any team besides the buckeys (1 loss by 3 to #1 @#1's home field)

Two, the GAME is the only rivalry I really care about. I would at some point, before I die, like to see that played "officially" for the national championship. Once. When both of them are at their greatest.

IMO, the GAME was the national championship this year (only undefeated teams play at end of season), but any other choice of players besides the two best teams in the country is invalid.
