Darth Avlectus
What of that. We have swoop racing. Why not hyperspace runs? More dueling arenas--on all the planets. IS there nothing more we can bless this series with? How about some sort of Triathlon, or ironman, or olympics? Running some kind of gauntlet? Anybody? Inyri
I really don't know that you could consider the olympics a mini-game . The idea of mini-games is to be something small in addition to the game. If you add too much the game loses its focus. For KotOR series to have three playable mini-games (pazaak, swoop racing, and the turret if you count it) is quite unusual. I personally don't like any of the current mini-games, but I don't really think the game should be cluttered with dozens of them. Now more side quests, on the other hand, would be a welcomed addition. I would consider the dueling arena on Taris more of a side quest than a mini-game. The Sith'ari
Your idea of additions do give me a GTA-ish impression, especially the triathlon part. You sure into GTA dontcha? Anyway, it sounds weird to have such "minigames' in a story-based RPG, because we can't control the PC much action-wise. But new forms of minigames and sidequests would be welcome. And btw, I actually quite enjoy Pazaak.
Darth Avlectus
No. I wasn't really thinking along GTA--despite my name. More ECW, UFC, or Street fighter. I guess the GTA would fly--But I never really considered the two coming together. OK I jack somebody's speeder and mow down 67 people going 90mph. Just doesn't have the same feel. They could duck-and only get repulsor burns. I was thinking just, you know, like some kind of thing where you can decide to sparr, or run in sort of of an obstacle course. Like what's already in the game. Sort of. Maybe I'm just getting old, but does anybody remember the gauntlet in a game called HELL CAB for MAC circa 1996-1998? Well--with the turn based platform action style gameplay is a tad hard to pull off. The swoop speeder was action style. Course, back then it was pretty crappy--and frustrating. That game was definitely on satan's payroll. Now that I think of it--GTA style beat downs on foot...I sort of like that idea. Well--I never played much of the mini games. I did the side missions. As far as pazaak--like any game of gambling, staistically you're more likely to win if you don't want to win and really aren't trying. At least from my pazaak experience...as well as on real slots. I just don't see the point of going upon a game where it's more by chance than by strategy and effort. Sorry.
Arátoeldar
I like the way K2 handled mini-games. Non-mandatory. This is supposed to be an RPG not a 2D side scroller puzzle game.
Emperor Devon
Some are good, but I prefer it when they're optional. When I first played KotOR, I loved the turret mini-game. After twenty-something times of playing it, though, it got pretty boring. Thanks God for mods. Anyhow, if the developers would put the effort into making over three mini-games, it would be a waste of their time to make them optional. Swoop racing and pazaak are enough for me. DARTH_DANZIG
.....hmmm yes wel let's see now....decisions, decisions... Well there's always using the force to play croquet with the planets. That could be enteraining. Just aim for the black holes. .....But in that game I'm not sure if there's a do over, you'd have to talk to the black hole gods, or maybe the hutts own them too. Darth Avlectus
Well, at least something else. More space levels or turret levels would be nice. Sort of like SNES super star wars games. Those were real time action, as was the swoop racing. Yes , true, it's an RPG. Some sort of difference--same same same gets boring after awhile. IS there nothing more we can bless this series with? How about some sort of Triathlon, or ironman, or olympics? Running some kind of gauntlet? Anybody? Sorry but I am not really into sports games in the form of Triathlon, or ironman, or olympics... in fact most of them are quite dumb. No turning this game into Mario's Party either. Though simple minigames would not be bad either, once in a while. Racing games are good, be it swoop, or in space. Some card games are always nice, so you can take a break and play a simple game that does not require reflex. I personally think fighting game would not be nice, cause either they spend too much time in its development and it becomes more focused than the core game, or they would be outright cr@p. A music game would be nice though.

XoXoXAlexOxOxO
i kinda liked the little puzzle thing that you had to figure out when you were in the warehouse on nar shadaa, if they had options to make it a little more complicated i'd be ok with that (i hope my idea wasn't too lame )

The Sith'ari
where t3 goes into the warehouse and you have to unlock a door by rearranging a set of letters and numbers Oh yah. I remember that. But IMO there're plenty of these puzzles in the games already. But most of them are pretty dull, like doing calculations in the Freedon Naad tomb on Dxun. It'd be cool if they could inject more fun elements in the puzzles.
Darth Avlectus
Ok so I see a few things. Thanks EvIn. My main point is *different* minigames-- maybe more maybe less. Not so many that it would clutter the storyline. Hell nah. Maybe a different card game perhaps? Card games have been around forever--semmingly. Sure I probabl am no better at these than the next guy. I still have enough experience to tell you: statistically you win more when you don't care about winning and/or stakes are low. Survival mode sounds inventive (care to elaborate?) for stuff, I can probably think of a few things myself... The brain neurons are a little flat right now so I can't think of anything much off hand. Except like a duel survival mode--sort of like fight games. Duel arena I personally liked. Music game? HAH! What, a little bit of your symphonic orchestra class in there? Don't make me laugh!!! Maybe it could have an ad like: "Jedi Jim's Saber Shack Emporium is holding an electronic cello bolwout sale! JJSSE is cutting prices by 40% to all regular customers! The first jedi to freak the cello and do Beethoven 5---thousand will get an additional 20% off the original price, plus a second electrono-cello ABSOLUTELY FREE! For a limited time only--subject to participation. See your local JJSSE for details." And you said MY ideas were dumb?! What next, tea drinking ettiquete? " Shall I fetch you another crumpet my dear watson? Oh what a lovely fingersandwhich." Get real. <snickers> Any rate. I can sort of respect that opinion; Yeah fighting games have their flaws. This isn't, however, orchestra music lessons 101. Electric bass is cool, I have one I pick up from time to time... but frankly I doubt most KOTOR fans really care to learn it or any other musical insturment. This is a game of WARS and CONFLICT on pretty much all levels--hence its name?!?! Fine--you don't like sports, and you have snail like reflexes. I can't say I'm surprised by your meatbag-ish comments. I certainly hope you aren't so lazy that you'll spend half an hour looking for the remote to turn off the TV instead of just getting up and turning it off! Get up, Get out. I never implied anything Mario Party or somesuch pifle. In fact, that game was the point where I decided I'd outgrown Mario. I can't stand that game. I'm more for the classics. For example the REAL SMB2--never released in USA, only japan for the famicon. It was later titled SMB:lost levels. Now back to the point: Let me make it REAL clear: I simply would like to see something ELSE--maybe more space missions, and I liked the dueling. Different card game. Maybe something to replace swoop racing--speeder racing or spaceship racing? Not clutter up. Is that a crime, darth homer?
The Sith'ari
BTW I'm Evln, not EvIn. That's a "L". And give PoiuyWired a chance to explain what he means by "music game" please...before breaking into blatant mocking.
Darth Avlectus
Sorry "Evln". My bad. Ok--I won't beat no more verbal crap outta PoiyWired...until given me someting else to mock...he left himself open... But in all seriousness, SUGGESTIONS, several, as well as criticisms. I'm less likely to make fun of meatb..I mean fellow LFers. Keep the criticisms respectful, please. Thanks. --Jae So you don't liiiiikke all the distractions. Me neither. A different game of cards--no less challenging for strategy? We seem to agree on racing--even though it was what I did least. And someone else played the super star wars for SNES? Awesome. I played that one first, then got ahold of the other two. Still (un-actively) looking for the first--bet its on ebay. Empire was the most challenging of all of them. I digress. I like AkumaSF's thread of a survival mode. Being that he's obviously into street fighter he knows a bit of what I'm talking about. However--true, the action fighting games would be crapppy with an rpg engine and little focus. Well, I like AkumaSF's idea for survival mode, and more arena dueling could accomodate that. I suppose if we look at past SW games we'd find an answer fairly easily--SW games of past has lots of puzzles and minigames. Well, PoiuyWired, You have your chance. No pressure--unless you really give us one that I can't let pass unscathed. ...I'll lighten up for a moment I suppose. Let us see your intellect. What brilliant ideas do *you* have to put on the table?
SilentScope001
If you want a fun puzzle, well, you could see the Logic Puzzle that at the Star Map in Kassykk in K1, such as the Prisoner's Delimma and Should A Nation Evaucate or Let his Citizens Die?. It is fun to solve them, while, at the same time, it adds to the story, by providing an insight to the Builder's mindset.

The Sith'ari
Oh I like it too. I thought it was a funny idea. I even expected to be able to save him from the box in some later side missions, perhaps to trick the Hutt into opening the box. But it just ended so abruptly with nothing to follow up. I wish they had further developed this experience.
