Rabish Bini
What if, in the next game, there is a survival mode included. You could choose your character, then you get put in a fairly large room, and you just fight stacks of enemies and se how long you can last. What do you guys think? Good idea or bad? XoXoXAlexOxOxO
would it be like a training sim type thing?
Rabish Bini
I never thought of that. I was thinking of a mode that you unlock after you have completed the game. Kinda like a reward. Although it could be a training sim I guess.
XoXoXAlexOxOxO
maybe it could be like if you wanted to level some more without having to use a bug or a cheat it might be cool
Rabish Bini
Yeah, that could be done also.
The Sith'ari
I think it's already been done in one of the mods. "Training simulation arena" or something like that? And no, that sounds pretty pointless. I don't wanna click "Flurry" "Power Attack" "Critical Strike" then "Flurry, Flurry, Flurry" until the end of time. And it's not like in GTA where I have to do something like that just for getting 100%.
Rabish Bini
No you don't have to do it to get 100%. It's just a reward for finishing the game. And they could alter the controls. Like you press one button to swing, one button to do an overhead slice etc... And it could be in levels. Beat level one, and take any remains from the enemies in that level, and then move on to the next level.
The Sith'ari
Yah I know what you mean, what I meant was that if it had to be done to get 100% like in GTA, at least there's some motivation. But if it's just a bonus for finishing the game, I wouldn't even bother to go for it.
Rabish Bini
Maybe you could get an all-powerful lightsaber hich you get if you finish 20 levels. O ryou get a rare objet for every 10 levels.
The Sith'ari
Then why not make it available during gameplay, before finishing the story? Otherwise whatever bonus weapons or feats would be useless.
Rabish Bini
Maybe after you finish the game, you get a freeroam mode. Or you could make it available during gameplay. Or you could just stick to it being a reward and play it if you're bored.
Darth Avlectus
Sound a little like several megaman games. I mean that in a good way. Earning a reward sounds appetizing. Perhaps a little of both--like you get certain things from the bonus survival game--and it could unlock stuff you can enable from the get-go. Then there are things unlockable in the main game's survival minigame. Sort of how it had to be done in Twisted Metal Black, certain characters, modes, and levels could only be unlocked in VS mode, others by meeting conditions in the main game. Perfect Dark was that way (and boy was it nice to unlock the all weapons cheat--my favorite weapon, the wrist mounted laser, is best used in close range constant stream so you can impale and force enemies intop corners). You had a hard time in GTA, EvIn? I did too at first. I like how they cap on all sorts of stuff. anyway--an arena that could allow you to fight any character in the game and you could tweak it so the difficulty is so massively hard that the CPU is practically cheating. That's one idea. Or a survival mode of endurance time trial; How long can you last against an endless stream of enemies? The more I think about it, the more I like it... nice
Kas'!m
What if, in the next game, there is a survival mode included. You could choose your character, then you get put in a fairly large room, and you just fight stacks of enemies and se how long you can last. What do you guys think? Good idea or bad? Oh so basically, you're just playing KOTOR 2 with a time limit?
Rabish Bini
Those are actually some pretty good ideas GTA. They could include different modes of it and stuff. @Kas'!m - No, I mean you just see how long you can last against a horde of enemies.
Mister Chief
Cough*** Xbox Live ***Cough This would be a great thing to play with all of your friends Characters.
Emperor Devon
I'd rather have that sort of thing done in mods. Bonus levels, extra abilities in your second playthrough and et al tend to decrease the atmosphere of the game. That sort of thing is best left to FPSs, as RPGs should focus on the story and immersing the player in it as much as they can.
Rabish Bini
@Mister chief - Yeah, that's a good idea, you could play it on-line. @ED - That's your opinion, not mine though
Sabretooth
I'm all for end-game rewards, or something - but it would break the cinematic quality of KotOR. Also, this gametype seems sort of pointless. I would prefer a place where you can play any mini-game without having to load a game.
Rabish Bini
I never said you have to load a game, it could be seperate in the main menu.
Sabretooth
I never said you have to load a game, it could be seperate in the main menu. Well, I meant being able to play mini-games without having to load save games.

Rabish Bini
@Prime- True, it does seem kinda out of place... @Sabretooth - Maybe they could have pre-made characters to choose from.
Vaelastraz
What's the point of such a room? I mean, the arena fights are quite entertaining, but only because I can speak to the opponents I have defeated, and because NPCs respect me. The combat itself takes no skill at all, it is simply clicking on the most powerful feat till the enemy is dead, using the inventory to activate whatever defense you want. The animations are nice though, so i enjoy the combat, it's kinda like watching a movie. But Kotor is not focussed on combat, and should not be.
