Istergard woke up in a dark room, he could see in the dark so he looked around and caught another heat form right next to him.

Them he remembered what happened and saw the mand besides him was Akira. They were in some kind of basement, Istergard tried to get up, but he was firmly tied to the wall, he could see they're weapons in a open chest in the other wall.

Might as well wait, can't do nothing from here... unless he though a few seconds later he started whispering a few words and one of his hands started glowing as a energy ball floated off, into the rope. Fortunatelly the rope broke and his hands were free, but his feet were still chained and he was tired. Istergard decided to wait to see what would happen next, pretend he was still tied up.

As one of Wolf's thugs checked on them, Akira woke up.

"What...who in the bloody hell are you?" He rudely asked.

"Hey, shut up you filthy prisoner!"

That gave Akira rage.

"Where i not chained, this "filthy prisoner" right now would be disembowling you and mutilating you, organ by organ and limb by limb," He threatened.

"Ah! You would not dare to kill one of Lord Wolfganger-Bria's men!" The thug taunted.

"Try me."

"You speak too much. We only need you for the girl."

Girl? He instantly knew it was Aya.

"If any of you touches just one cell of her, i swear i'll disembowl, stab and behead you."

I think now is about the right time Istergard thought, quicklyboosting himself up with both chained legs and bringing his right fist forward into the man's face, throwing him to the floor, before he could do anything, Istergard had grabbed something solid from the ground, maybe a rock. He didn't notice what it was, but Istergard lost his balance and fell on the man. He strugled around and hit the guard right in the neck with it, preventing him from shouting and calling for help.

Istergard's heart slowed down for a few moments, but started beating fast agaiun when he remembered where he was. He started crawling towards his sword, Istergard picked it up and with a clumsy blow he desmantled the chins in his feet. Istergard ran to Akira, cutted his and ropes.

"Quick, grab your weapons and lets get out of here! We have to warn Aya." he whispered, waiting for Akira to react.

((OOC: Ok, since most of us seem to be ready for morning....))

In the courtyard between the stables and the Smoking Dragon Inn, the first light of the sun began to filter through the openings between the buildings. A rooster crowed from the top rafters of the stable, and the sound echoed through the barn.

Bob stirred but didn't rise just yet. Aya yawned, inhaling a deep, waking breath, then smacked her lips as she stretched an arm upwards. "Mornin' Bob," she said sleepily. Her eyes fluttered open, then went abruptly wide as they focused on the sight next to her.

"Ack!" she exclaimed, squirming out of his embrace and sitting bolt upright. She hadn't remembered falling asleep next to the warrior and was both shocked and embarrassed to unexpectedly discover him lying so intimately close to her.

Akira kicked the thug. After it, Akira and Istergard retrieved their weapons. A group of three thugs appeared before them. Akira rolled on the ground, throwing both daggers as they mortally wounded two of them and then Istergard quickly slashed through the remaining. Akira retrieved his daggers and the two got out of the place.

Dawn had come, and morning had arrived. The two finally reached the inn, passing through the stables, nearly missing Bob, Aya and Kyo as they both entered the inn.

Tellis awoke with a start. Opening her eyes tiredly, she looked around. She was still in her room at the Wavering Wind, sitting in the lone wooden chair, her bed untouched. Light filtered through the window slats; not the pale ivory of moonlight, but rather the first spots of shining radiance from the sun. It was morning.

She unwound her lithe frame from the chair and stood up. She rotated her shoulders a few times, ridding herself of the small stiffness that had set in during the night. Taking her cloak from the back of her chair, she fastened it at her neck, then exited out the small door she had come in from the previous night. Padding down the stairs quietly, she slipped outside. Picking her way across the street, she made her way to the Smoking Dragon. Opening the door, she noiselessly made her way across the empty common room and down the familiar first floor corridor. Opening the second door on the left, she entered Carwyn's room.

****

Carwyn squinted as he opened his eyes sleepily. Morning light was coming through the now open window. "Geez, doesn't that damn thing ever stay closed?" he said to no one in particular.

"Usually it does, but I thought some morning air might be good," a low, sensual female voice answered him.

He whirled his head in direction of the voice and saw Tellis sitting on the stool by his bed. "Tellis!" he exclaimed. "You scared the bejeezus out of me."

She smiled her enigmatic smile at him. "I apologize."

Carwyn pulled himself up into a sitting position and rubbed his eyes. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to check on your wound and to speak to Aya."

The ranger's eyes shot open at that. "Aya!" He looked around, noting the empty bed beside him. "Where is she?"

Tellis seemed mildly amused by his shock. "That's what I'd like to know."

"Shoot, I have to find her and apologize," Carwyn said as he made to jump out of bed, when Tellis put a cool hand on his chest.

"I think Aya might like it if you were wearing pants when you greeted her for breakfast, Carwyn." Her voice was low, almost a purr, her eyes flicked briefly downward and her tongue made another appearance at her bottom lip.

Carwyn went completely red in the face when he realized that he was indeed not wearing any pants. Scrambling, he grabbed his trousers from the foot of the bed and hastily put them on. He cast a sidelong glance at Tellis, who was still seated. "You could have told me sooner, you know," he said.

"Yes, I could have," she replied. "But I did need to look at your injury."

"Oh," Carwyn said as he stood up. The pain was gone. He turned and pulled the waistband of his pants away to look at his wound. The stitches were still visible, but it no longer looked ghastly. "Wow, I didn't think I'd heal that fast."

Tellis stood, moving next to him. "Dr. Waverly is the best doctor in town," she stated matter-of-factly.

"I can't disagree there," Carwyn said. A little peturbed at how close she was, he asked her, "What did you need to see Aya for?"

Her cool grey eyes flashed and she looked a bit troubled. "It's better if I tell it when I see her. I do not like telling a story more times than necessary."

He raised an eyebrow. "Well, all right then," he said, moving to the door. "Let's go find ourselves a merchant." He inhaled as his stomach grumbled. "Maybe some breakfast while we're at it."

Frowning at Kyo, Aya stood and began brushing bits of loose straw off of her clothes. She stared at him for a moment, feeling the flush and knowing that her face was probably as red as a beet now. She was feeling angry, embarrassed, and a bit disoriented all at the same time, and although she opened her mouth with the intention of chastising him, nothing came out except an abrupt, "Morning."

Just then, Istergard and Akira burst through the back door of the stables, ran through the centre aisle, and then darted into the courtyard, heading into the Inn.

Aya just stood there for a moment, the shook her head with confusion.

"We must be late for breakfast," she surmised as the reason for the two men's hurried pace.

She glanced down at Kyo, who looked completely relaxed and even a bit amused at what she perceived as an awkward situation. Frustrated at finding no appropriate words for him, she moved past him and out of the stall.

"You coming?" she asked over her shoulder.

"Of course." Kyo answered, giving Bob a quick pet before standing up and brushing himself off. With his hands in his pockets, he followed her silently. The swordsman came up beside Aya and watched her silently for a moment before looking away.

She was embarassed, that was obvious. So was he, but amusment had long ago taken place of that. She also seemed angry...frustrated, almost.

He rotated his shoulder. It was a strange thing to think about...he hardly knew Aya, but he had stayed with her throughout the entire night, serving as a human pillow. Though, Kyo supposed, he did sort of owe her. It was he who had upset her.

Jonas sat up in the bed and looked around, every one had left. Jonas assumed they had gone to breakfast. He decided to go to them and have breakfast, but on the other hand he was retiring, he had no real reason to get up too early and decided to slump back into bed and sleep for a little longer.

Istergard ran to the common room looking everywhere for Aya and the others.

"Where is she?" he asked Akira who as right behind him. Then on the way back he saw Aya and Kyo both coming back from the stables.

"Thank the gods we've found you!" Istergard said allowing himself to breathe again.

Aya marched through the courtyard, Kyo following closely behind her. She didn't know why she was feeling the way she was--irriated at having spent the night laying next to a man she hardly knew, but at the same time, feeling thankful that he had been there to comfort her. And although Bob seemed to fully trust the warrior, Aya still felt uncomfortable around him. No, awkward was more the word. And then there was this whole business with the coin, and the old woman, and Kyo's seeming obession with the mythical Obake Blade, and today was market day, and she just had a bad feeling that no matter how hard she would try, she'd run into Wolf or one of his creepy goons...

Aya's head was swimming with thoughts and emotions, so when Istergard and Akira breathlessly approached her as she walked into the inn, all she could do was stare dumbfoundedly at them.

And then, just as she was about to ask Istergard what what the matter, she noticed another odd sight--a dishevled and sleepy-eyed Carwyn walking with the beautiful, and almost glowing, Tellis.

Aya eyed Carwyn, and slowly raised a single brow.

Carwyn spotted Aya and Kyo walking in from the back of the common room together, the merchant looking a bit frazzled. He was surprised, then a new feeling, one he had not experienced in a while, crept into his veins.

Sidling up to Aya, he said, "So, how was your night?" His voice was cold, and he surprised himself with the iciness of it.

Aya's eyes flicked back and forth between Carwyn and Tellis. Her gaze lingered on Tellis for a moment, whose normally calm and serene expression Aya mistook as one of satisfaction.

"Fine," Aya replied flatly, as her eyes flicked back to Carwyn. "How's your leg? Better?"

Then Akira interrupted. "Well, good morning to all. We have news from your "good pal" Wolf, Aya," he said, sounding a bit furious. "But first and foremost...let's have breakfast," he declared, putting on a smile.

Aya turned and gave Akira a friendly, but closed mouth grin. "Good idea, Akira. Let's." She gave one last look at Tellis, then followed Akira to the long breakfast table that was laid out for all of the inn's guests.

Carwyn's hand shot out, catching Aya's arm. She glared at him. "What?"

He was almost pained by her expression. Moving closer, he said, "Wait a sec." He reached up and plucked a stray strand of straw that was sticking out of her mussed hair. "That's better," he said.

Aya's face flushed and she murmured a muffled "Thanks" as she gently extracted herself from Carwyn's grip and made her way to the table.

Carwyn quickly moved to sit at the table, taking the seat across from Aya, Tellis on his tail, taking the seat beside him. She leaned in and whispered in his ear. "Well, I guess my story came to breakfast. I don't think I need Aya's attention anymore." She smiled again; this time it was almost predatory. "She's all yours."

The ranger glanced sidelong at her as they sat, still unsure of what she was talking about. She seemed to be looking at Akira and Istergard. He shook his head. Looking across at Aya, he tried to catch her gaze.

Renn approached the table and stood just behind Aya. He was wearing a white apron and holding a piece of chalk and a slate in his hands, looking every bit the happy innkeeper.

"Good morning!" he said cheerily to the group gathered at the table. "We've got a full menu today--fresh eggs, bacon, sausages... just about anything and everything breakfast related."

He looked at Aya, then Kyo, but then he frowned suspiciously. He moved towards Kyo, and brushed off a strand of straw from his shoulder. "Don't want that falling in your food, now do we?" he said to Kyo in a low tone. "Now, what'll it be?" He looked at Aya. "Aya?"

"A poached egg and some toast, please," she answered.

Renn's brow raised. "Barely enough to keep a bird alive," he murmured to himself. "Right." He began to write on the slate. "That's two poached eggs, two pieces of whole-wheat toast, two sausages, and a glass of orange juice." He flashed her a quick grin that told her it was no use to argue with him.

"Next?" Renn looked at Tellis. "Tellis?"

"Toast, an apple and water, please," Tellis replied.

"Three pieces of toast, a bowl of oatmeal, an apple and a tall glass of water," Renn said. At Tellis' look of mock horror, he tut-tutted at her snarkily and turned to Carwyn.

"I'm almost afraid that if I give my usual breakfast order, I'll explode from all the food," the ranger told Renn.

The bartender laughed heartily. "Well, you won't, provided you order properly."

Carwyn grinned. "I'll have three scrambled eggs, two pieces of toast, three strips of bacon, hash browns and a glass of chocolate milk."

Renn beamed as he wrote the order down. "Now that's a breakfast." He turned to Akira.

Renn scribbled on his slate. "Giant stack of pancakes, honey syrup, two glasses of milk, and a large side order of bacon. Great." He winked at Akira. "And how about you, sir?" he looked at Kyo. His eye narrowed a bit, flicking supiciously from him to Aya. "You need to regain your strength as well?"

Renn was grinning, but there was something behind his eyes that said if he found out that Kyo hadn't been entirely 'honourable' with Aya last night, there would be hell to pay.

Kyo's eyes narrowed ever so slightly. "Toast, bacon, and three eggs over easy." he said, pointedly not answering his question about his strength. He was sorely tempted to add You know, things that straw won't fall into, but held his tongue. How many people would come to the wrong conclusion about himself and Aya?
