Datheus Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 It's a humorous video, but I've used the speech recognition. If you have a decent mic and speak as clearly as the guy in the video did, it works quite well. It also helps to pause between commands.

I can't use the "voice calculation" training program in Brain age on my DS because it cannot understand me when I say "six", it is fine with other numbers though. BTW: there is a "best of youtube" thread for posting stuff like this.

narfblat Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Probably, how should I pronounce six to make it understand me then? Try talking like a machine. It may actually help, though - talking in an "electronic" voice may be more recognizeable for the software, and may help supress any accents.
Alegis Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 It's quite old, the speech recognition in RTM vista is quite lovely. I don't use it often for dictation though, but when I did its rather accurate and especially easy to correctify. Use it mostly for launch applications or folders. Because it's very handy and fast, but also because it's completely awesome. Going to check if I can replace 'open' by 'launch', because launch is even more awesome command. "Launch xfire" !
