HK-42 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Along with the new SW game. A book for it is coming. Is this a good idea, Yes? No? What do you think? For Me: Yep it is.
Diego Varen Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Yes. If they can do it for the DF - JK games, then they can do it for Force Unleashed. I've never read the books myself though.
Grey Master Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Yeah, it will be a good idea, I will buy the book.
Prime Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Hopefully it will round out the story and solidify what are canon events...
PoiuyWired Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 well, we aWell, what they need is a book on deathstar plans, then it will canonize that part of the history forever w/o having 23412421 people stealing the plans.
Cavkov Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 how can that be a bad thing? lol finally they do a multi media title!
Char Ell Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Anybody know when this book is supposed to come out? This article on starwars.com doesn't mention a release date.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Sometime around Fall. It may interest me. If it's based on the game, which it is by the looks of it, I might read it. But, it doesn't concern me so much since it won't be out for a half a year or so. Plus, I'm waiting for "Harry Potter and the 'Deathly Hallows'".
Jeff Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Looking forward to it. I think this is a good time period to write about because nothing is really set in stone besides what will go on in the game.
tyrone333 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 i am deflenity buying this oh yeah comander obi wan nice avater your old one was good
HK-42 Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 Anybody know when this book is supposed to come out? This article on starwars.com doesn't mention a release date. A: September 25th
Dark Lord Maul Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 i think it will be gd if they put the game and the book with the same storyline unlike RC the book and game were almost completely different im not interested in being told 2 different things about the same thing.
PoiuyWired Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Variants of the story would exist. Remember, Gameplay > Realism. As long as FU works better the so-called multimedia coverage of SotE it will be all good. Maybe the novel version and the game(s) are describing a different dearksider? BTW, do we really need saber tonfa? What's next? Saber yoyo?
DrPhil2501 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 In my opinion, I'm hoping it's NOT based on the game. Because if it was, it would kinda make certain events in the game canon. Believe me, I really hate canons.
Char Ell Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Prepare yourself for disappointment then, Mohunas. If you would have read the starwars.com article I linked to in post #8 of this thread then you would have already known that your desires will not be fulfilled. The book will be largely based on the same story as the game but will likely feature some details the game won't have. The game will have multiple endings but only one canon ending and the book will be written with the SW canonical conclusion. Also I believe TFU novel's release date has been pushed out to 2008, same as the game.
PoiuyWired Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Well, just to be honest even if the book is not about the game there is only so much you can get away with non canon stuff. While minor things may be hidden from the known timeline about the galaxy far far away, some things remain true. In an obvious star wars world, there is no darksider that will suddenly raise and replace Vader as a sith(I assume this is a game option) PS: By the Force please please please tell me that there is no mention of ANYTHING about Death Star Plans. I would hate to see another person involving in such activities.
