With the Halo 3 beta out now I figured it would be a good idea to not only get everyones thoughts and opinions, but for everyone to list their gamertags and when they'll be playing so maybe we can get an LF party goin :D

 

My thoughts: Completely Awsome. Many people are saying "It's just halo 2 with slightly better graphics, same old s***, blah blah blah." To them, I say "Good." It ain't broke, why fix it? Yet at the same time, I say it isn't just halo 2 with better graphics. And the main reason I say that, is because of the new Assault Rifle.

 

With Halo 2, you spawned with the SMG, and then frantically scrambled to either A) find grenades, B) find a better weapon, or C) find something to dual wield with it. It was only good at close range, and even then, someone skilled with a BR could take you down. At medium range it was garbage. The AR, however, is great at both close range and medium range. You die, you no longer go searching for weapons, you're right back in the action.

 

The other reasons, are the new gametypes. I absolutely love the new Territories. For those of you who havn't played it, Instead of just fighting over the 3 territories and going for the most time, it's now offense vs defense, with 5 territories. You get all 5 you get a point and switch sides, if not, you don't get a point and switch sides.

 

And of course, the new weapons, equipment, the Mongoose, even the Maps make it a completely new game. And I can not wait until it comes out, for I will no longer have a life. Can anyone say 24hr Halo 3 marathon? I can.

 

Now that my thoughts are out there, I don't have a 360, but fortunately, my friend who lives 10 minutes away walking distance does, and our very own TiE was nice enough to give me the beta code he got before he got crackdown, just so I could play the beta. Mad ups yo :p

 

His Gamertag is Lord Stauffer. I'll be over at his house tonight, either all night, or just for a little bit, but enough time to get some games in.

I've been paying attention to Halo 3 quite recently. I haven't played the first two Halo games yet, so I'll probably buy 'em or rent 'em before September so I can try those out. I looks pretty sweet, though.

 

I don't have Xbox Live yet and I don't want to buy Crackdown for the beta. But, a pal from school has the beta, so I may be able to try it at his place.

PM it to me, I actually would use it and won't sell it like Bongo probably would. :p

 

Edit- Although now that I think about it, you should probably defer it to Bongo partly because he did ask first and partly because I know he'd cry at night if he didn't get it. :xp:

if my code doesn't work, dont blame me. i just got it in an email a couple days ago from bungie and then for some reason from Microsoft.

 

umm, just so you know, you have to have an Xbox LIVE Gold Account.

Comes out September 25th. I like the beta to a degree. Problem with MP beta, is you don't get to really walk around and explore anything. Some of the features are cool, like being able to cannibalize a gun turret and walk around with it. I also really like the territories game.

 

The only thing I really HATE is that snow level. I don't know anybody that likes that though.
