The Source Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 KotOR III :: Original Trilogy - Clothing "Knights of the Old Republic" contained clothing that resembled a more medievil period of time. "Knights of the Old Republic II" had Jedi robes that could be found in the movies. Since they are moving the clothing style closer to the movies, how about making some clothes from Leia, Lukes, and Han's closet. Luke's - Yellow Celebration, Black Outfit, Brown Outfit, X-Wing Jumpsuit, Hoth Clothing. Leia's - White Gown, Hoths Clothes, etc... You get the idea.
Ztalker Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Just...no... It feels like merging two different era's. It just doesn't feel right to see an Old Republic pilot in a X-wing jumpsuit. The robes are okay though. Although it's strange to see some of the Prequel movie roebs in kotor 2, it might be a tradition that spanned several era's. Maybe the Robes were introduces in kotor 2, but still in use in the Prequel era.
Miltiades Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Yeah, those suits were invented in a period about 4,000 years after Kotor2. It wouldn't feel right.
TKA-001 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I don't see how it would take 4,000 years for people to invent simple brown robes.
Miltiades Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Not just simple brown robes, but exactly the same robes of the movies. But like I said, it wouldn't feel right, having people were clothes from the Rebellion Era. It's confusing.
Rev7 Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Does it really matter... it really is just the merging of both eras I think...
Miltiades Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Considering the fact that there's almost 4,000 years between the two era's, I'd rather not have merging of the two. Whatever it is.
Rev7 Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 You do have a point that there is a 4000 year difference... yet Robes like the ones in the movies have to start some where ... right???
Darca Lar Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 4000 years is a long time, back then time our ancestor's wore fur from their dinner. I don't think that idea is good, especially rebellion/empire clothing. Maybe something a little more original like the K1 robes. It wasn't the most stylish nor was it my favorite look, but it was original.
RobQel-Droma Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Personally, I thought the KOTOR robes were pretty good. They fit the time period, while the TSL robes looked like rehashed robes that had been used thousands of years afterward. Maybe a mix....
Ctrl Alt Del Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 You do have a point that there is a 4000 year difference... yet Robes like the ones in the movies have to start some where ... right??? Those new robes could be the standard garments for the Jedi after the Order being rebuilt by the Exile.
Rev7 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 But we don't know if the Exile Rebuilt the Jedi Order... or have I misses something. I think that we don't know who rebuilt the Jedi Order.
Miltiades Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 There's not much choice, is there? Except for the Exile, you have Atton, Mira, Bao-Dur, Mical, Visas, Bastila and Atris. They rebuild the Jedi Order together.
Lito Starkiller Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Personally, I liked the robes from the first Kotor a little better than K2.
adamqd Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I think the Kotor I clothing will suffice, and they were a big step forward from the TOTJ comics which were only 40 years before that so, lets slow down a bit with weapons and technology too.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 These robes things were some of the changes they did on K2 that I just though that they wouldn't fit. Like T3 beeping sounds looking exactly like the astromech droids of the movies-era. That means that some stuff changed on a decade but stayed the same for the next 4.000 years? (Of course, I couldn't stand that irritating noise that T3 always screamed on K1, but...)
Rev7 Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 My guess would be that George wanted a more "modern" apperance, and sound in KotOR II. Otherwise it probably should have been the same as in KotOR I.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 My guess would be that George wanted a more "modern" apperance, and sound in KotOR II. Otherwise it probably should have been the same as in KotOR I. Well, someone on LA might have. But not Lucas himself, as he doesn't meddle with SW games.
Rev7 Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 He might not "meddle", but he has to give approval of the game.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 He might not "meddle", but he has to give approval of the game. Of course. Though he only signs a contract where he must choose between "yes" or "no", but he don't personally says how he wants the game to be like.
Rev7 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Thats a shame. Although he is a very rich man, I think he should have more involvement with the game, but you don't always get what you want. In some ways it would be very bad for him to have more involvement in the game, so I might have to take back my words. (whisper) He doesn't look like much of a gamer to me.
