KotOR III :: Whole New Story

Instead of feeding people Revan, Exile, Revan, Exile, how about a whole new story all together? Since both of the games have endings, how about a new Sith Lord/Jedi Master to go after. Personally, I am tired of Revan's and Exile's story. I hope the writers will design a completely new story.

The unknown regions was a deposit of story ideas lately. Finally we get to discuss some gameplay elements again. :)'

Anyways, I'd love to see a new story. We left of with a great story at the end of Kotor 2. A new Jedi order will be stablished by the Lost jedi children. So why not skip a few years and start with that new order?

I think the other posts by the Source:

KotOR III :: Include - Droid Planet & HK-Factory

The Source

KotOR III :: Cloud Cities

The Source

KotOR III :: Aliens from Jabba's Palace

The Source

KotOR III :: Original Trilogy - Clothing

The Source

KotOR III :: Force Ghost (Jedi Master/Sith Lord) Sidequest

The Source

Are all related to gameplay elements of a possible Kotor game. Unless you want to create a fasion game based on Jedi robes of course, that would make his Clothing Thread a story discussion :smash:

I was relating to the other posts he made. This sole post/thread is about the story idea. The others are about gameplay, I suppose :)

I'd rather not. Both have already grown on me, and while their stories are wrapped up in both games to the point they could dropped, they're already developed characters and there's still stuff that could be written about them. It just wouldn't feel like the third KotOR if it wasn't about the characters from the previous two - kind of like how RotJ wouldn't have felt like part of the OT if it wasn't about Luke and Vader.

All i want is at least some tangential connection from K2 to K3. Basically, some mention of The Exile and Revan. But that's about it. There were subtle connections between K1 and K2, which explains what happened to Revan. I hope for these same subtle connections between K2 and K3.

I don't think they could get away with dropping this "True Sith" Plot. They just built up too much of it. The game has to have something to do with Revan, or something Revan did, or at least wherever he went.

A new Jedi order will be stablished by the Lost jedi children. So why not skip a few years and start with that new order?

I don't see how another Jedi Order could be started. By the end of K2, all of the Jedi masters were dead except for Atris, and she wasn't even a Jedi at all. The only actual Jedi who we know survived was Bastila, and she was just a padawan. She couldn't rebuild the order. Potentially, I suppose the Exile's companions could build another order, but that's only if they're light-sided. Therefore, all evidence seems to imply that in the Dark Side ending of K2, the Jedi are screwed.

  • 1 month later...

We know that someone built up the Jedi Order At least One Thousand years before the movies... because Yoda was a Jedi then, he is nearly 1000 years old, so SOMEONE built up the Jedi Order again, who exactly I don't know... BUT that is partially what I think KOTOR 3 will be about... of course if is even going to be made!!!

You can go even further. Phanius feel to the dark side around 2000 BBY, becoming Darth Ruin, plus the fact that the New Sith Wars, which put Jedi against Sith again, lasted from 2000 BBY to 1000 BBY. There's Still almost 2000 years between the end of Kotor2 and the beginning of the New Sith Wars, however.

Considering the way TSL ended up, if KotOR III fails to follow up on it, I'd hesitate to call it KotOR III. It would be a terrible disappointment to just abandon where TSL finished up.

Ask yourself what would be more satisfying; actually seeing and playing in "the great war that comes", finding out what happens to Revan, the Exile, the True Sith fiasco and so on in a fast paced, compelling, twist turning video game, or just hearing about it in some lame, half assed history conversation with a Jedi Master many years down the track?

TSL is just crying out for a follow up to it. Hell, just take a look at heaps of the UR threads on this forum and see how many of them don't mention Revan, the Exile, the True Sith etc in them. I know what'd I prefer, and I'm almost 100% certain the majority of the KotOR fan base agrees with me.

We only know about a few Jedi left at the end of K2 Atris was a Master and Bastila by the time of TSL, she would probably be a knight on her way to masterhood, Zez-Kai Ell said some Jedi just left, Atton says some switched off their lightsabers years ago, and even with the death of the Masters she isn't sure if they're all gone. They said there were 100 jedi left after the Jedi civil war and then even that number began to deminish and I doubt that the only ones that remained were in the game. If they make a K3 they would have or most likely have to abandon the idea of only taking young children as learners because the Jedi are trying to rebuilld their ranks so as of right now the age thing most likely has to be thrown away for a time. And it never says what's happened to Jolee, Juhani, Juhani's Master Qatra, or Beleya etc.(Even Vandar; even though Vrook says it before he dies he says Zhar and Dorak then he Zhar and Vandar so I would assume he's clueless partially because I don't like Vrook)

I would like to be part of the great war that is to come, and fight the big red true sith dudes(although I read on the Lucas Forums that someone on said that Chris Avellone could see the series finishing at a Fourth) which I could see, maybe the big war and new characters, a new main pc and then the fourth can be getting some lost artifacts with some mystery envolved or something

No. Maybe before TSL was released, I would have supported an entirely different and unrelated story. But TSL left so many questions and loose ends about Revan and the Exile, I would be severely disappointed if K3 did not answer them. Sure, it can have a different player character, but it should bring a conclusion to the Exile's and Revan's journey into the Unknown Regions.
