Anyone else catch this movie trailer? Looks pretty interesting and seems like the rumor mill has been buzzing over the net (surprised I couldn't find it here except for a few spattering of off-topic posts ;) )....

http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/11808/

J. J. Abrams (Alias, Lost, Felicity, Armageddon, etc.) is spearheading it so I can assume it's going to be pretty good.. hell the trailer alone makes me want to see it.. hehehe

Paramount Pictures are mums the word on any details, the project's 'codename' is Cloverfield, but that doesn't say much either.

Is this a Godzilla remake/sequel/etc.?

NO! J.J. Abrams has stated this is not a prequel, sequel, remake, etc. The monster will be original, and have nothing to do with other previously created monsters.

So.. what are your thoughts?

The website is pretty kewl:

The pictures can be moved and, certain ones can be "flipped" with a jerky, rotating mouse movement. No other pictures can be on top of it, so you'll need to push each one aside to get it to flip ;)

I haven’t read anything about this till now.

The trailer looks great; I enjoy trailers that don’t ruin the entire movie by showing you everything. It shows just enough to get my curiosity flowing.

I can’t wait. I’ve always been a sucker for monster movies. As a child I used to hide behind the couch watching Godzilla or King Kong and watched Jaws with my feet up in the chair.

Great find ChAiNz.2da, thank you for sharing it with us.

Wow, I haven't noticed this until now and I follow the movie scene quite a lot.

Seems cool, I actually liked the 1997 release of Godzilla :xp: couldn't understand why people were complaining so much about it.

But by the picture, it looks like we've another September 11th movie...

Why the hell does everything that remotely involves the destruction of New York or other American cities have to do with 9/11?

I didn’t think the 1997 Godzilla was bad, at least after I got over Godzilla not being a man in a rubber suit.

Still it was not as good this Godzilla movie :)

Yeah, I caught it the day it exploded on the net. The site I write for got heaps of hits for that. :p There have been rumours of this being Voltron (one of the girls says it was like a Lion or something). Whatever the case, it is going to be awesome and I am going to be watching it.
