Miss_Mayhem Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Yes, listen up kiddies: what the heck is going on? What happened to RD? Why all the negativity, all the harsh feelings? The knowing that, amongst the sea of LucasForums and Star Wars fans, that this was RD, that we were RD ... is dissipating. And I'm dissapointed at how it's all culminated. At the back of our minds we always knew RD would flicker out, but certainly no one wanted it to wane like this. Day in and day out, left and right ... all these little spats pop up and get blown out of proportion ... It's more trouble than it needs to be. If you feel you cant help it, I will be blunt and say; Stop coming. Dont make the last of the days so bitter for everybody else. Dont you want to remember RD fondly? This ... is just a reminder, to be good to your fellow forumites. I see that Thrik has posted something up at the same time as I, same general topic ... but I wont bother to bring this down. Perhaps ... pick a date, and quietly recede thereafter.
Poopdogjr Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 As much as I love this place, I think I might start migrating elsewhere. It looks as if we will never know what is going on with a sequel, no new blood, tempers flaring. Hmmm. Where to go...
Miss_Mayhem Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 I've been scouting, and have registered to 2 new places already...
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 As much as I love this place, I think I might start migrating elsewhere. It looks as if we will never know what is going on with a sequel, no new blood, tempers flaring. Hmmm. Where to go... join rd2 no rules just right
urluckyday Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I always thought the little "flare-ups" were all in good fun...but that was just me... While there are a few less than friendly members on LF in general, the overall population is quite welcoming and friendly. I'd say the Sam and Max boards and RD are the least welcoming and least friendly out of all of them, but honestly, anyone that really has played Psychonauts wouldn't mind RD because this is one of their only "homes" for discussing it.
Miss_Mayhem Posted August 15, 2007 Author Posted August 15, 2007 We're quite welcoming actually, I think it's just that the new members may feel out of place amongst the insider jokes and the overtly lax atmosphere when it's not the norm for them. And I know RD isn't the only forum, but my treks away from the heathen islands haven't really left me wanting to go back . . .
DylanMay Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Mayhem, do you mean PSychonauts forums? I love Psychonauts and I'd like to join whatever forums there are out there. I kind of agree that this place is a little imposing for newbs (like me) because everyone already knows each other and there's a lot of inside jokes and stuff. It's hard to get into the swing of things. Anyway... yeah, I don't plan on leaving, but I also wouldn't mind stalking in the shadows of other forums. Please, do share.
itchythesamurai Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I'd say the Sam and Max boards and RD are the least welcoming and least friendly out of all of them... Hah, the Sam & Max boards haven't had a regular new member in probably years. That place is so dead, but it doesn't diminish my pride in being a mod over there.
JoeDoe 2.0 Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Man, let's sit around the fire and sing lullabies

itchythesamurai Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Yeah, but George Lucas wore it this one time so it is okay.
