SilentScope001 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080102/oil_prices.html See? Oil is now at $100. The world isn't ending. I don't see total annihlation. Anyway, horray for oil executives! Horray!
Totenkopf Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Hey, don't forget the guys at OPEC and the market traders.
Jae Onasi Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Yes, how many billions of dollars in profits will Exxon make this week?
tk102 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 When I was 4 or 5, I remember telling my mom I wanted to work at the gas station because everybody stops and gives you money...
Web Rider Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 When I was 4 or 5, I remember telling my mom I wanted to work at the gas station because everybody stops and gives you money... from what I know of gas stations, they don't make real good money in many places where prices are high.
tk102 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Well, yeah. Did I mention I was 4? The point is: people need gas to drive their cars and they're willing to pay -- that fact is even obvious to young children.
Tysyacha Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I wouldn't have such a problem with this if I knew where all of the oil profits were GOING. The flow of money is like a current in the ocean--it circulates, going around and around to lots of different places. Could oil revenue be supporting terrorists, even unwittingly?
EnderWiggin Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I would bet on it. The money given to Saudi Arabia and other nations in the Middle East is most definitely being moved around, and with the amount of terrorism today, I'm sure it gets into the hands of terrorism sooner or later... _EW_
mur'phon Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Sometimes it's nice to live in a filthy rich oil country.......................
Ravnas Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Well we're lucky they didn't up the price to 5 Bucks and instead upped the price to 3 Bucks, but they did that to avoid taxation anyway and have minimal profits instead of no profits
Totenkopf Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I think it would do well for everyone to remember that corporations don't pay taxes, we pay taxes. Their taxes are always folded into the price of the commodity they're moving.
SilentScope001 Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 I think it would do well for everyone to remember that corporations don't pay taxes, we pay taxes. Their taxes are always folded into the price of the commodity they're moving. But we need to pay taxes! It's our civic duty, paying money to the government! Why are people so upset about giving the government money so they can use it to build roads, or provide border security, or pay for social security?
Tommycat Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I think people have a problem with HOW the taxes have been spent as of late, and how much we have been paying out.
TK-8252 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I think people have a problem with HOW the taxes have been spent as of late, and how much we have been paying out. I have a problem with how the taxes are being spent as well as how much we've been paying out. The entire system is ****ed.
