Bah, Americans are generally no good at making good Metal music, except the Death Metal scene, maybe. True Scandinavian Metal is what ye needs!

I like the latest metalcore that's been coming from the states, but it does find its roots in the Scandinavian Death/Trash scene and of course good 'ol classic American Trash too...

I find metalcore to be a perfect blend of two of my favorite styles, taking influence from both heavy metal as well as Hardcore/Punk which did originate in the States.

This is by far the lamest rant I have ever seen with the most narrow-minded, unsubstantiated and ignorant comments I have seen in a while...I frankly would have thought this thread would have been locked by now, I've seen threads get locked for less than this.

 

If this is the kind of views you hold in real life I wouldn't be surprised if you had no friends whatsoever, as you wouldn't fit in with the "cool" people, but neither would you fit in with anyone with more than half a brain, which would leave pretty much no one...if you try to be opinionated, at least try to form a coherent and substantial opinion about things instead of talking 5-year-old gibberish

Agreed, but I would also add the Punk classification for The Kinks in the 1980’s, at least for their “Give the People What They Want” album.

 

DarthJebus05, before holding The Kinks up as a bastion of sexual purity, I recommend you listen to another The Kinks classic called “Lola” (Hint: Lola a little more than “she” seems). If that does not convince you try the song “Art Lover” or if what to add a little violence to the equation try “A little Bit of Abuse or “Killer’s Eyes.”

We're all human, even celebrities. Sure, they're not the best 'idols' or people to admire, but that's no reason to not to support them.

 

 

Obviously people still care, otherwise the media wouldn't print stuff about them. The media caters to what the public wants.

 

And really, Brad and Angelina are two of the more decent celebrities out there anyway.

 

 

Sex sells, there's no two ways about it. Advertisers are out to make money, and they'll do it any way they see fit. So unless the general public become giant prudes, I don't see this changing anytime soon.

Swearing at my age was a rub off from a few friends of mine I grew up with. Their mum didn't care if they sweared, so I started swearing at their place. I eventually grew into swearing on the internet.

 

My brother, who downloaded, yes downloaded, a lot of rap songs, he said hes got over 1000 Tupac or whoever songs on his iPod. I occasionally see him rapping with his hands in the air when hes around his friends in the streets.

 

First off, Britney was admited to a psychiatric hospital a few days ago, but then released to her parents I think it was. Paris Hilton has made (crappy) porn videos and people should support her for that? And why was she in prison a few months ago?

I never said I didn't like Brad and Angie, but enough is enough. On a news story I saw a week or so ago, the media interviewed women all over Australia and they said they were sick of it.

 

Sex sells are the way to go though. I also never said they never made a sell out of it. But about the sex advertisements near school, sorry, I should have explained that properly. I used to catch a school bus with years 1-5 on it, and I think they should not have to look at those ads at such a young age.

 

As I stated before, I am a 14 year old teenage male, and I'm not 'cool'. I was trying to get the point across that those 'cool' kids are nothing but self-obsessed selfish arseholes.

 

In my year 8 class, this idiot said all Americans should be shot. I was the first to question him. All he said was 'because'. I called him a moron because he had no idea what he was talking about. He got up from his chair and tried to scare me. That ended unpleasantly. He ended up with his head smashed into the wall and my arm was cut because he tried to stab me. He was expelled the same day.

 

Seven National News (one of Australia's biggest news programs) reported a street race, which all 5 drivers were under the legal driving age. 2 of them spun out of control and hit into 6 teenagers, killing them instantly.

Okay, I didn't force you to read any of it, so I'm just going to skip how lame your reply is.

 

Fear not, DarthJebus05 your just a few year up front on your mates and tha cool people.

 

Don't get to frustrated on all the "crap", it can change all in a blink of an eye.

Really, I knew this girl which I thought was a real pest... now 2 years later its one of my best friends.

 

Peeps grow and change, so be a bit patient on them , plus enjoy being a kid.

 

On the music part: Not all Metal has those screamers, you have to look for the good stuff => what you like. I don't like most of those bands, but still I"ve got a Dimmu Borgir CD, I just love the sound. THere something about a growling Gitar that gets me...

 

On top of that I got lots of differant kinds of music, stuff like Primal Scream (its not rock / metal ), moby, Faithless, Deep Purple... I just pick what I like whatever the genre.

 

Anyway, eh... nothing to say really.

In grade/year 3, this guy and his friends bullied me all year, then for whatever reason, the next year, we were best friends.

Ah, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't like their music. For example, Burzum is a Black Metal project by a guy named Varg Vikernes. He killed a man and has been accused of church burnings and is, I think, racist. I wouldn't say he's the nicest role model in the world, but I like some of his music, so I support his music.

iTunes reads from MP3 tags, so someone most probably mislabelled them. I dunno if you downloaded that from iTunes or what, if you did then I dunno.

Edit: Actually, I looked it up on ITunes as their #7 selling song it is shown under the Genre “Rock.”

I don't agree with your Metal stab there. Since I am a big fan of Heavy Metal and what your referring to is Death metal which is all about screaming and head banging. Heavy metal is classic rock with more complicated riffs. Heavy Metal is very complicated music that requires a lot of innate talent and has been around as long as regular rock and roll
