Has anyone heard of a Filipino movie? That's why... So yeah, in raw numbers, Asia probably produces more crap then the American movie industry. Thats a worthless statistic to gather! The quality of a nations film industry is judged by its successes and the talent of its leading directors. Since the 40s, if you compare the **best** of Europe- Fellini, Goddard, Bergman, Rosselini, Zeffirelli, Bunuel, Almedovar etc and Asia, with Kurosawa, M. Kobayashi, Zhang Yimou etc what do you have to stack them up against in the US?? Even cool US directors like Tarantino, Lynch, the Cohen Bros etc occupy a non-mainstream(aka arthouse/indie) niche - whereas the aforementioned are highly celebrated symbols of a national artistic identity. The difference comes down to what the peoples of those nations identify with more >> some like to see Art, History and Emotion, others, Spiderman, Batman and lotsa explosions. Da_man Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Why not just make a movie based on Guitar Hero? As long as it has Guitar hero in the title, it is sure to be the most profitable movie ever. Besides the Halo movie if Hollywood ever gets around to doing it.
