bindo245
In kotor , is there a script or something that makes the npc you're talking to say your name? eg: player: hello npc : hello [player name].
JCarter426
It's just <FullName>.
DarthJebus05
Or maybe: [FirstName] and [LastName] - Not sure.
The Betrayer
It's just <FullName> as said by JCarter. So if you're putting the dialog, "Hello <FullName>."
Erronis
That goes with everything. All items, weapons, robes etc.
Inyri
Or maybe: [FirstName] and [LastName] - Not sure. <FullName> is the token for the full name (obviously) although I do think there are tokens for first name and last name. Of course doing <FirstName> <LastName> is redundant since there's already a token for it. But if you wanted like "Hey Joe, 'sup?" you could do "Hey <FirstName>, 'sup?", so you're not restricted to just "Hey Joe Schmoe!". We can't be formal all the time, eh? Inyri
I'm not entirely sure myself (not at home so I can't check -- 99% certain at least <FirstName> exists) but I'm fairly sure they do. So you could do it that way if you really wanted to.

They could still exist on KOTOR2 though. <FullName> work's though.
Inyri
Hmm, maybe they don't; maybe I'm thinking of NWN. I'm not 100% on how to create new tokens, but I'm sure you could if you desperately wanted to.
Darth Xander
These "scripts" exist in stringtokens.2da.
Princess Artemis
<FirstName> exists in K1, though for some reason it acted like <FullName> when I used it. ::shrugs::
Eefluxx
<FirstName> is in K2 as well. A game I was beta testing the NPC called me by only my first name several times. So I am pretty sure it exists Eefluxx
Master_Crush
All it is is <Fullname> For instance: Master Crush: Hello Bastilla: Hello Master Crush
tk102
<FirstName> exists in K1, though for some reason it acted like <FullName> when I used it. ::shrugs:: Probably because the creature template for the PC has a FirstName field containing the entire name and a LastName field that is always blank. EnderWiggin
Probably because the creature template for the PC has a FirstName field containing the entire name and a LastName field that is always blank. That did always bother me. Why the devs did not make use of their own conventions is beyond me. What was the point in making that field to begin with if they didn't intend to use it? _EW_
Inyri
The field was already present, leftover from NWN (just like most of the content ). If they never planned to refer to a character by their first name only I'm not surprised they didn't make use of it.
EnderWiggin
Yeah, I knew that it was leftover... but come on! It's already there! Might as well use it. Seems like poor planning. _EW_
Princess Artemis
As I recall, (and I may be wrong, it's been a while), TSL made proper use of <FirstName> and <FullName> when I used them to refer to Exile...somehow it figured out that the space meant the next word wasn't the first name. But my memory is sketchy on that so I might be mistaken...I probably am because I can't imagine Obsidian getting it right when BioWare apparently fumbled it. JCarter426
Obsidian did indeed get it right. For example: Hello, <FirstName>. I assume you've come for my earnings? Believe it or not, I found that on the first try.
Princess Artemis
Nice to know my memory hadn't failed me (I've used <FirstName> a good bit in TSL but I hadn't played through it in a while). It does surprise me that Obsidian managed to get that right when they had so much of the work done for them already by BioWare when BioWare goofed on it...and Obsidian was pretty shameless about reusing assets from K1. Silly it doesn't work in K1 though.
