Darth Kalverys
Ok... so I'm sure that I'm not the ONLY Twilight fan here... Breaking Dawn releases tomorrow at 12am!!! I'm going to the release party tonight... who else is excited for this long anticipated sequel to Eclipse?

Darth Kalverys
What's your point? I can't like Twilight? It's not really a chick book in my opinion... so there's a bit of romance but still they are amazing books.
Rogue Nine
A bit of romance? The entire series is about an average-looking girl fawning over some pasty white vampire dude. I dunno about you, but Meyer's constant and repeated mentions of Edward's scintillantingly incandescent beauty worthy of emulation and adoration seem pretty targeted at the female demographic to me. Darth Kalverys
While that is annoying, yet not unexpected, there are still Bella/Alice/Rosalie... and people do have a bit of a romantic/sensitive side to them... everyone does, regardless of if they hide it... so I see no problem reading them. El Sitherino
I don't know what this series is. Is this a manga, anime, or some sort of h-game? Describe the basis of the story and I may look into it. I'm a bit of a sucker for romance.
Darth Kalverys
I don't know what this series is. Is this a manga, anime, or some sort of h-game? ??? It's a series of books about this girl and her vampire boyfriend, werewolf best friend, and their complicated love triangle. It's quite funny and it's a good. What with all the action/suspense and everything.
ChAiNz.2da
About half our Marketing staff is meeting tonight for a midnight book release shin-dig. It's hard to imagine how popular this series is around here (my work). It's like the next "Harry Potter" phenomenon. I haven't read any of them yet, but from what I hear from my workmates, perhaps it's something I need to be looking at. I don't think I've met a person yet that doesn't like it once they get in to it. (except maybe 9'er now )
Darth Kalverys
Meh heh heh heh... it's a really good book Chainz... I suggest it (obviously, I started a thread called Breaking Dawn RELEASE!!!).

My girlfriend and her friends have been talking about it all week. God kill me. EDIT: It's a series of books about this girl and her vampire boyfriend, werewolf best friend, and their complicated love triangle. It's quite funny and it's a good. What with all the action/suspense and everything. Well that explains the quotes on my girl's myspace then.. ugh...
Rogue Nine
ChAiNZ, Sithy, don't bother. I've got the condensed version right here. Pretty much all you'll need to know about the book. And again, remember that the target demographic is teenage girls.
Darth Kalverys
Heh... if they hated it so much, why did they actually count how many times about every little detail that they supposedly hated. I find that quite funny...
Rogue Nine
Uhhhhh, here's why. She says it right on the page. Emphasis mine. I am, instead, going to provide you with a catalog. A count of various elements in the book, which should give you a feel for exactly how numerous its flaws are. Later, she goes on to say: I would have kept track of how many times Edward's mood shifts unexpectedly and for no reason, but I didn't have that much paper. I am sad, though, that I didn't keep track of how many times words like "granite," "stone," and "marble" are used in reference to Edward. His arms, his lips. Explain to me how kissing cold, marble lips is at all appealing. And yet it makes Bella faint. I give up. I know that reading Twilight doesn't require a whole lot of brain power, but please, when reading things written by other people, do try to apply some basic comprehension skills. ChAiNz.2da
And again, remember that the target demographic is teenage girls. wow o.O The "Lines that made me laugh" section.. are those really in the book? oi.
Rogue Nine
Yeah, they are. And there's plenty more where that came from.
Darth Kalverys
Yeah, that's part of what makes it funny.
Ctrl Alt Del
Nope. Never seen nor read them. In fact, I'm not even sure there's a portuguese translation. And again, remember that the target demographic is teenage girls. Then? Some people can use it as a excuse subject to talk to them.
JoeDoe 2.0
^ Just another weapon to pick up chicks heh? Good luck....
Rogue Nine
Yeah, that's part of what makes it funny. I don't think Meyer wrote lines like "He lay perfectly still in the grass, his shirt open over his sculpted, incandescent chest, his scintillating arms bare" or "Because, through the heavy water, I heard the sound of an angel calling my name, calling me to the only heaven I wanted" to make people laugh. And this is different, because when they do laugh, it is because of her atrociously juvenile and gushing descriptors, usually of Edward, eliciting disbelief and mockery. In other words, people are not laughing at the book because it is meant to be funny, they are laughing at how awful it is.
Darth Kalverys
Possibly... But then about what Ctrl Alt Del said... that's one of the main reasons that I'm going to the release party tonight. I've been looking for a new gf for about a month. Rogue Nine
Possibly... Not possibly. Definitely. But then about what Ctrl Alt Del said... that's one of the main reasons that I'm going to the release party tonight. I've been looking for a new gf for about a month. So you're going to this thing looking for a hookup. I'm sorry, but that's kind of sad. If I were a girl, I'd definitely think a guy who was as enthused as I am about Edward and 'his scintillating arms and chest' is a little weird. Darth Kalverys
Well not really... not here anyway. Just about anyone who's read it is in love with it. So they'd just... well nevermind.
JoeDoe 2.0
^ You have been rick rolled : If they make the books into a movie, then the producers and the author would be insanely rich. But I guess that the good thing is that kids nowadays are reading more...
Rogue Nine
Well not really... not here anyway. No, just at the party you're going to go tonight. The party at which you're going to try and pick up a girl by using your extensive knowledge of how much Edward is a Greek sculpture come to life. Just about anyone who's read it is in love with it. Uh, I've read it, but I'm clearly not as enamored with it as you seem to be. The girl whose LJ I linked clearly doesn't like it either. So it is erroneous to say that anyone who has read it has fallen in love with it. Some of us have a clearer head than that.
