e-varmint
Someone recently asked me to map a saber that was modeled after one of the Episode III sabers. This got me to wondering what a doublesaber might have looked like in the original Star Wars movie. So, I found some schematics on the internet and decided to play around with some "what ifs". I plan to make about five a gazillion of these, then release. No set schedule, purely a matter of when I feel like working on them. Phase 1: Sabers that did not make the "Cut" No 1. This one was made entirely from lawnmower parts. Even the pull-cord was put to good use: No. 2. Vader's first doublesaber was made from more small machine parts, some black leather, a metal stairway tread, and a Lava Lamp: No 3. Brass fittings, Black Naugahide, Circuit boards from crewmember's broken radio
Marius Fett
The emitter parts of the model look really nice. The main shaft looks a bit plain though.. Also, the texture could do with a bit of work. Try making your own rather than using game ones. You get much more freedom in what you're doing that way. TriggerGod
Try making your own rather than using game ones. Actually, he doesn't do either of what you said earlier. He finds textures on the web, which is what he uses for Sabers. Sometimes he uses ingame textures, but, he does combine it with another texture, which is what he did for the UV Map of Revan's Saber. Once I find some good rubbery pics, I will make one a little more like the actual props. I may even add a little box with a switch!

Inyri
Your models will never look as good as they could until you take the time and expend the effort to learn to texture. You're only limiting yourself.
Marius Fett
I agree with Inyri here. If you sit down for a while and look through some tutorials, and just experiment on your own, you'll get a lot better with these textures. I think (going by those renders) that your UVMap could be a bit dodgy too.. You'd be surprised how much better a model can look with a decent map. You may want to try the You Suck At Photoshop series. It's a very informative series of video tutorials, as well as really funny.. e-varmint
no.3 is my favorite! Thanks! Here's one they made out of props from an old Mae West movie. No. 4. Found at a yard sale in Berkely.

e-varmint
nice job Thanks! Here's one that actually works ingame (TSL): http://kotormods.oldhickorystix.com/w_dblsbr_045.zip I have also included Atris and Talia disguises. @ Marius: Thanks for taking the time to suggest the PhotoShop tutorials. Unfortunately, I use Corel PhotoPaint, so I cannot avail myself of the link. I will apply your suggestions to the robes I am working on, but I just don't think the in-game resolution supports the addition of more detail when it comes to lightsabers. For robes and armor, I would definitely agree that extra effort on the textures is warranted, but not for small items like these. Besides, these are intended to look like cheap 1975 props anyway:D -

Mav
Actually, in regards to the posts about the textures, it appears to me (granted I haven't modeled in a while) that your screenshots from gmax (or 3dsmax or whatever prog. you use to model) are simply shots of your models with their applied textures, and not actual renders of your models with applied lighting etc. Therefore, learning how to render an image of your model in your program would benefit your screenshots. However, if I'm wrong feel free to ignore me.

Edit: After some searching around, I believe I found one! I'll try it out and see if it works. If you read this, and you are a GMAX user, do a search for gmax render kit, you will find all sorts of good stuff. -

Darth Payne
I just noticed something on the screenshot that i've never seen before. Two different colors on the saberblades of a saberstaff, i always wanted that.

The one Atris has is a tad buggy in that respect, but I have figured out how to make it work correctly in TSL now. The Talortai saber I have on TUCE has a red and blue blade, but that is the only TSL model I have released. SuperSaiyanZolo made some really nice multi-colored blades for the K1 Deadeye mod:
